I have a ptex question

I just got into using it last year to fix some of my beat up skis but I was wondering how bad does something have to be for you to fill it? Or what do you recommend because I think it would be usesless to fix small scratches.

A few things to consider. First, dont worry about the small stuff, but if it's questionable you could always drip it there. It'll scrape away like wax. Second, if you're down to the core ptex won't be enough to fix it - you'll need a base welder to fix that stuff.

All in all, as long as it's not a core-shot you can hit it with ptex and it'll scrape away no problem.

I say don't bother unless the damage goes all the way through your base material or if it is right by the edge where it seems like it might let the edge get caught on something.

PTex is cheap and I usually have good luck with repairs lasting a bunch of days but they usually eventually crack out especially near the edges so I'm looking into getting some sort of base weld material or something to play with

If you're ptex is cracking out then something ain't right. Are you just holding a lighter to a ptex candle?

I am just dripping off the candle super basic style

One that always eventful cracks out is by the edge though and I don’t expect it to last

Ptex might look like it will fix core shots, but it really won't. It might hold for a few days but it will come out. I'm sure there are exceptions but this is pretty well established. [tag=189437]@DominatorJacques[/tag]

If you do it right, it will hold. If they are falling out, it's not being done correctly. Many factors involved.

"Welded" not drip candle.

Never sweat the small stuff, just steel scrape smooth.

See my long video.
