I hate stretching

I am not flexible at all so i can barely do any cool grabs. Its starting to piss me off because i want to grab nose and truck and stuff but i cant reach. I came to the conclusion i have to stretch daily in order to reach for these grabs. Whenever i stretch it hurts and i do it like once a week, never really staying consistant. any ideas on how to become more flexible?

Get full tilts.

But really. Start by lightly stretching and slowly work your way up to more "intense" stuff. And eat healthy stuff

I googled that in 5 minutes. Undoubtedly you should be able to too.

Stretch more than once a week maybe? Lol stretching that little will do little to nothing for you.

Do yoga! It's really awesome, if you're in college you meet all the hot babes and get to stare at the backside of yoga pants for an hour. Or just do p90x yoga, I do that everyday and it's made every part of my physical life better. Being flexible reduces the risk of injury during any physical activity.

Stretching before and after skiing would defniently help. Also stretching may hurt sometimes but if you do good stretches and do them everyday you will really start to feel the results. I used to suck at stretching but when I started doing cross country in in highschool I went from extremely inflexible to being able to put my palms on the ground without bending my knees and do all that other cool flexible shit. It's definetely worth it.

stretching shouldnt hurt. dont listen to them. go to the point where it starts to hurt then ease back a bit. stretching your muscles too far is not good for them either. you need some of that elasticity

You're right shouldn't have said it may hurt, probably should have said that it won't always be easy or super comfortable.

dont bounce when you strech or you can pull something which you dont want to do. also stretch down to your (semi)comfortable limit, hold it, breath out, and stretch out some more, repeat until you cant do it anymore. just dont bounce!

Stretching by itself doesn't do much.. To become flexible you're gonna need to get your muscles warm before stretching them. Try running like half a mile and then do all your leg stretches. It's gonna hurt the first like 10 times you do it, but just keep stretching regularly and it'll get easier and you will get mroe flexible!

Its not that hard and you don't need to do yoga or anything, just force yourself to stretch for 5 minutes every day before you go to bed or when you wake up. If you want to become a better skier and 5 minutes of stretching is going to help you with grabs then it should't be that hard to force yourself to do it.

I also just had the worst time ever forcing myself to stretch so I signed up for yoga class so twice a week I'm forced to stretch for an hour strait and I'm getting noticeably more flexible by the day

Don't stretch with cold muscles. Only do it after a warm up run, or after a day of skiing. Whenever it is, just make sure your muscles are warm first.

Just standing there and yanking your ankle to your arse isn't effective either. If you're working on your quads start with a gentle, slow stretch. Keep your flexing knee in front of your other knee. Hold for 5 seconds. Release, shake the muscle, do it again for 8 seconds. Release, shake, do it again for 10 seconds. Same principle applies for other muscle groups.

If you're truly inflexible you might need a friend to help with with some PNF stretching.

it hurts to stretch because your muscles are tight.. stretch everyday and flexibility will come eventually

After every ski sesh stretch.. This off season hike or bike a shit ton and stretch. It will get easier and not be annoying. When I work out and complete a exercise I dislike it always feels more of an accomplishment. Learn to do things you don't enjoy and it makes you a stronger person.

Or make the stretching a personal meditation time. Take those few minutes of stretching to relax and clear your head.

Just keep stretching every single day, and try to improve a little every time you do it. I stretched every day this summer and by the end I was almost able to do a split haha. I can still bend down to my toes and can wrap my hands around my feet. The amount of progress you get in stretching is the same as the amount of work you put into it. Stretch every day!
