I think a better place to start to look for homeless funding would be taxing ultrawealthy americans more effectively or the military but this is a thread about trashing salt lake. The Great Salt Lake is drying up and the city desperatly needs to start imposing water saving policies because the average person in SLC uses way way more water than the average American. If things continue the way they have been, I could see SLC becoming the first metropolitan area that becomes a mad max style wasteland.

Except for you...who is likely in the lowest tax bracket, unsuccessful, and it doesn't effect. The fact that you're happy that 50% are filing tax returns (which isn't even true), shows that you don't understand how the world works. Why should illegal immigrants not have to pay taxes and legal citizens should? Answer me.

Its still my home after all the years cuz I went to HS there and had a lot of first-ever experiences and met my best friends for life there. I just hate how it turned into open-season for rich tech WFH workers, real estate developers, and the rich mormon old guard, as well as the population growth in such a short amount of time. COL is a fucking joke there and the NIMBYism became too much, especially with people who "just moved there". I couldn't fucking stand hearing people who just moved there complain about traffic and congestion on their precious little day of powder skiing.

Illegal immigrants shouldn't pay taxes because it increases their chance of being deported and citizens should because otherwise they're committing tax fraud and could get jail time or a big fine. Everyone should pay taxes if they expect to benefit from the infrastructure and social services of a country. Personally, I'm much more pissed about the taxes dodged by the rich/corporations because its way more money.

The reason why there are far more 'apprehensions' is because there's 10X as many people coming over. I was down in Mexico recently and asked some people there about it, and trust me...Mexico is laughing at us right now. I asked if it was harder to cross the border when Trump was in office, they all said "Oh yes, much harder."

It's not a fox news thing. It's happening in massive numbers. Most democrats are just too stupid to realize. (I'm liberal on many things, might I add.)

I'm just saying l that people keep arguing about immigrants getting things that Americans should have instead. Heathcare etc. They don't deserve it and it's taking away from Americans.

Given the chance to fix healthcare for Americans they have little to no interest.

If you hate immigrants that's one thing but it's weird to bring up health care for Americans if you don't support fixing it and only use it as a point to other said immigrants.

If Americans had worse healthcare across the board, but all non citizens were prevented access, people would support that. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

- If I was born in Mexico I'd be the first over the border. Our current open border is unfair to people immigrating the proper legal way.

- I'm Pro America. Open borders = not good

- I support cheaper health care. Our actual healthcare system is one of the best in the world in terms of treatment. A way we get cheaper healthcare, is to stop paying for people who aren't citizens here.

I'm pretty sure most people think health insurance is very expensive. Much of that reason is because we pay for the people that don't have the funds to do so. Many of which are bums, drug addicts or illegal immigrants. Or all of the above. Yet liberals will complain about health insurance and how it's too expensive, yet they want to pay for people that don't work/aren't contributing. Makes zero sense.

Do you know the cost to go to school to be a specialized doctor? Do you know how long it takes? Well that's why it's expensive. If you want it to be much cheaper, you're not going to get the same level of care. Or you're going to be like Canada and have a 6 month wait to see someone for a cold.

All of 11th and 13th is a fault line which leads to the roads having to get fixed constantly and give gross traffic.

Lol man as a republican I have to say American healthcare is pretty indefensible. To start, we need to limit prescription drug prices. We need transparency in prices for services at hospitals and medical practices; when I take my truck to the mechanic I know he charges $100 an hour for his time but I have no idea how much my doctor is gonna charge me?? We need more oversight on the panels within insurance companies that determine levels of coverage; these are often people with no medical background. We need to limit copays for prescription drugs and doctor visits. Among other things.

It’s ridiculous that I have insurance and yet it’s often cheaper for me to just find a coupon or ask for and itemized bill and pay out of pocket for things.

Oh yeah, people come just for the heath care. Funny how many people go to other countries to get stuff done. If I need any work on my teeth I'll probably go to Thailand or Mexico. Have had friends go to other countries to get surgeries and dental.

I actually was only going to be in America for a little bit before heading to Norway but decided to do another season here. Was in NZ from may till a month and a half ago. Probably will be gone for a year ish from may if I end up going to Norway next fall.

I travel a decent enough amount, live in other countries, and have friends outside the county I was born in. I've had plenty of people who think an hour away from home is some epic journey tell me about what other countries think of their healthcare. Did they ask anyone from their or travel there? Of course not, but fox says their unhappy and fox never lies.
