I just raped a pair of K2 Obesthed(Tore the bindings out of the ski) And dedcided to go for a pair of more park oriented skis this time. So I bought Amplid Antidogma. So i went out doing some rails with them today, and i gotta say! great skis they were so awesome on rails. but DANG I hate them:P I always hate new skis. I'll probably love them by sunday but at this moment, god damn, i don't even want to ski them:P no hate on Antidogma skis^^

I just wondered if someone else experiences strong hate against they're new skis but often end up loving them?

i went from 85 cm waist line chronics to 98 cm waist ninthward firstbloods and i hated em for the whole first day of skiing.

i couldnt get used to the width and it they were alot different. but after a few days of skiing them, i absolutley love em!!! the width is perfect. its not too narrow so i can still slay BC and pow and not sink, but its not too fat so i can still tear it up in the park and on groomers. the large surface underfoot also feels much more stable when stompin spins n flips off kickers.

I'm trying to think of a pair of skis that I didn't have a getting-used-to period and loved the first day I rode them, and I think my first gen Seths are the only ones that really fit the bill. It always takes some time to figure skis out, whether it's a couple runs or a couple of full days.

ive got these moment ruby's staring me down from across the room right now...im super excited about them, but theyre also freaking me out cause ive never skiied anything with that kind of width (114ish underfoot) so i feel like theyre gonna be pretty awkward at first. im not taking them out for the first day until there are at least 6 inches of fresh.

yeah i hate the break in period alot, but i usually hand flex them so much that they are almost borken in by the time i get them on snow...

I have loved all most all of my skis to death.

2004.2005- 149 K2 Juvies

2005.2006- 169 K2 Seth Vicious (probably my overall favorite ski)

2006.2007- 177 Fisher Atuas, not my favorite ski of all time but I broke them in two days.

2006.2007 - 175 Dynastar Trouble maker

2006.2007 - 186 Dynastar Big Trouble

2007.2008 -187 Pro XXL

2008- ON3P!

well im gonna be going from a 160 ar5 to 178 anthem so i wouldnt doubt that im gonna hate them at first but love them after a day or more

never hated my skis....

just give it time, you cant expect to feel comfortable on a brand new set of sticks... new shoes arnt always comfortable, you just have to break um in and get used to them

im gonna go through that this year. i got some bibbys and its my first year on rockered skis. should be a fun couple days figuring things out

There are really only 2 pairs of skis I hated after I first got on them.

09 Nordica Jah Loves

09 Movement Goliaths

Some skis I've love the second I got on them, original Seth Pistols, Atomic Thugs (though this love faded), and some take some getting used to (ARGs).

I've skied so many pairs of skis over the past 2 seasons, probably 20+ I get used to almost anything pretty quickly. That being said, I haven't skied anything under a 95mm waist in 4 years. So that might be weird going back to.

Everyone always has that "get to know your skis" stage. It'll take some time to get used to them.

yes I have experienced this too, like going from a 159 to a 179 ski, big difference.

up until last year always skiied rentals so i never knew differently than having new skis

i guess i just learned to deal w/ change. but it sucks when you have sharp edges first day n hit rails... yuck!

I picked up JJs this year and the first pow run was like a revelation. Now I just have to figure out how to ski them in non-pow....that's gonna be the hard part.

The worst is when you get new skis and new boots at the same time, everything is so foreign, kind of sucks until you get a feel of how the ride, and what you can do with them until they become an extension of yourself.

Last season I was in the same god-awful boots I got 4 years previous, still too big for me because I figured at age 15 that it would be best to grow into a boot. Anyways, I finally stop growing and get new boots, super stoked.... and then the shell size had gone down so far that I couldn't adjust the bindings small enough. Not only that, but i was a good inch off. I am a pro patroller during the winters, meaning that I rarely get off the mountain and need skis every single day. Luckily, I had just bought a new pair of vcts and got them mounted up (mounting at my hill takes a few days) and off i went. I hated every aspect of them. For the life of me I couldnt ski them, they dove in pow, i even bruised my calf pretty severely during a crash, making the boots beyond miserable. Long story shortish, took me a couple weeks skiing them every day and I have never loved a ski more. The more I push them the more they would give back and basically they brought my skiing to a whole new level. anyways, even if it takes a couple weeks, you just have to give them time.

YES! forgot to mention I also got new FT's and Marker Barons...Learning how to skin for the first time on new skis, AND boots is weird. Gonna take a while for me to get dialed this season.

Yeah if you were used to a fatter ski then its always gonna take some time to get used to a narrow park ski, I just got on some 91 underfoot skis today and it was super weird, i am used to at least 100 underfoot but after the day was dont i was loving hittin the rails with the narrow's, antidogma's are sickk though, give them some time, they slay the park and are sick everywhre else too!
