thats some pretty jacked up stuff to be sure... the russians arent exactly doing a great job in chechnya either though. from what i understand theres some psudeo-stalinist kind of stuff going on there, and in a neighboring province (midnight kidnappings etc)

also, it seems to me that every incident of this nature in russia for the past few years has ended with commandos trying to storm the place (remember the theater incident a year or two ago?) and now this school. people both times have gotten killed.

ultimatly the chechnyians are to blame for these incidents, as no half civil person should engage in terrorist hostage taking. its rediculous.

California's populace isn't an ethnic and religious minority who've been brutally discriminated against by Russia's military machine for decades. The acts of Muslim extremists- like taking hostages in theatres and schools- is ridiculous, but, as in all things, you have to remember the context here. If Russia would realize the necessity of an independent Chechen state, then perhaps Chechen nationalists wouldn't think that they have to resort to such measures for independence. Speaking of which, don't you think for a minute that the American Revolution wasn't devoit of such despicable acts as well. The end doesn't always justify the means.

Its a shame that not all terrorists live together in one extravagant building that says in large bold letters, Terrorist Headquarters. Then bombing foreign middle-eastern countries (currently Bush's plan of action, coupled with some beefed up Airline Security) would end in one fell swoop.

How on earth are you going to eradicate terrorists. They are all across the globe in all countries in all different sizes and colors. You can't wipe terrorism off the face of the earth. I agree, the recent terrorism in Russia is horrible, but its reality. It is irrational to believe that you can eliminate terrorism. You can take steps against it, but you cannot kill or detain all the terrorists in the world, meaning eventually attacks will leak through homeland security.

^Oh, and yes, it is due to the fact that the French and Russians 'supported the terrorists' that they are now focusing their energy on these two countries, as a form of 'back stabbing of their supporters'. I'm sure France and Russia, and China for that matter too, are all supporters of Terrorism.
