I had a pretty terrible first day

yup so i got to stratton at like 10:15 which was 1:45 past first chair. then i couldnt fucking regain my 2 onto a box the entire fucking day. then there were these tiny ass jumps and on a 3 i broke my binding somehow. so then i had to skip lunch with my buddies and while they were eating i had to go to 3 shops to finally get it fixed. all they had to do was hammer the twisted track, but they gave me a steel track which costed me $15, which i dont mind at all. then i still couldnt get a fucking 2 on for my life, which was pitiful. then i tried a backflip off of one of those tiny ass 7 foot jumps, and it was my first attempt ever. i normally float my backs on a tramp so i completely underestimated the weight of my skis and how little air i got, so i did not tuck. not smart. i landed exactly upsidedown like 180 degrees flipped. i was definitely concussed and now im all dizzy n shit and i have a big ass headache and my back hurtsies. im kinda woozy right now, so im gonna take some meds

Ouch! You might wanna get checked out for that headache, and your 270's will eventually work out.. Atleast you didn't get your skis stolen!

damn thats a bad first day. ++ vibes and hope you get better from the concussion, and regain that 2 onto the box quickly.

yea last season i seperated my shoulder on my first day out on like the 4th run. i was out for three weeks and had a late start to my season, u just gotta take it easy on the first day out, not really try to push urself too hard, then slowly work your way back into the swing of things

yea man sounds like you went a bit overboard for first day. just keep it chill, keep your brain involved (without concussing it) and just last the season. many months ahead...

haha the day after the first day last year i tore a ligament in my ankle. i seem to have bad luck with early season

That's a bummer for sure, but you gotta start slow. Doing tricks you've never done on the first day you ski is a bad idea, especially on a 7 foot jump.

Count all the positive things, like being on the snow with your friends, or just being able to ski. Sorry for the lecture, but whenever I'm down on something I always just try to find the positive in it.. makes it much better.

hopefully tomorrow or whenever you shred next will be better.

that sucks dude its only the first day ur just a bit ruff ull get back into it and my first backflip attempt was just like urs cept i broke my collerbone cause i was slightly off axis now im so afriad to do them

i feel like such an idiot for not tucking haha

and yeah, it was probably stupid to try it on the first day

sorry u had a bad day, but making a first attempt at a backie off a 7 foot jump which is not in powder is straight retarded to begin with.

i got a concussion today for sure. i went into this barrel bonk at smuggs with way too much speed. i bonked and then all i remember is flying past the landing being like 15 feet high and smashing my face on the hardpacked ice flats.

wow that sucks, you'll get that 2sev eventually dont sweat it, my friend tried his first backy on our first day over a pretty gnarly barrel bonk and he surprisingly landed it clean, i thought he was gonna eat shit for sure. my first day i decided it was time to learn some rails, i surprised the hell out of myself and got it on the second try it was like 10-15ft flat box.

take it a bit easy at 1st, my 1st day i sucked skiing pretty much didnt even work on my sw ups but had the best time ever, 2nd day working on sw ups and hitting more stuff but still not totally shredding. i missed all last season and would love to not miss this one as well but eventually i'll rip.

damn man thats shitty. i was landing backseat all day. it's all good give it time you'll get back in the swing of things

just imagine how many times mr. wall fell over learning rail tricks...optimistically you failling teaches you every single time...falling is learning...learn from your mistakes, have patience and you will succeed

^are you talking about eddie wall?

last year on the first day i bent my brake so that it was under my ski, and the dudes in the shop told me that it was impossible to fix, so i ended up just sitting in the lodge from 11:30 till 4 watching my friends every time they got to the bottom. then on the way home i took it to a shop and they just replaced the brake.

Yea i feel you man. completely tore my heelpiece out today on the second run. Found out my core was rotted to a nice mushy paste. I ended up riding most of the day on my friends skiboards though. It actually turned out to be a really fun first day. I definitely got more confident balancing on rails and the short platform helps you to learn not to land in the backseat.
++vibes, hope the rest of your season goes better!
