i am doing construction for my cousin and it is pure hell however i don't know how to tell him i wanna quit. i can't say..well i'm lazy and i don't wanna do this bullshit anymore and i already asked for less hours and he said no..any suggestions?
 
i would suggest just sticking through it and working...its the summer...make tons of money so u can get brand new shiz next season or buy a car or something. it cant be THAT bad...could it?
 
yeah i hated my old job, but i also wanted to leave without being an ass. what i did was say that i had a ton of other stuff going on and i just don't have time to work now, but i may want to come back later. worked fine for me, i know have an awesome job.
 
im leaving for school in a month so i think im just gonna tell him i can't take the hours and i need some time to spend with my girlfriend before i leave for school..and i gotta edit my movie.
 
whats the deal?? u dont like money?? or u dont like to work fo your own things? no offence but u sound spolied becasue anyone like myself that pays for there own stuff doesnt give up a dope chance to make oodles of cash. honestly i dont see a way out for you that wont make u look really lazy for giving up a good job...
 
your a dumbass..i dont need the money. i don't need a vehicle, or anything what so ever..and when i do i will find a job that doesnt make me work like a negro.

im 18 and leaving for school soon..i have all the money i want but my mom basically doesnt want me getting into trouble and shit so she makes me work.

o ok...yeh just try and talk to your boss then and just tell hoim straight up you wanna enjoy your summer before you go out to school...he should understand and its not like he can say "no you cant stop working"

i did actually cut my foot pretty bad..not working and told him and he didnt seem to give a fuck..he is pretty much a dick but i can't say shit cuz were family.
 
aren't you the one looking for peoples opinions? don't post a thread about how lazy your ass is then when people give you a idea you shut them down. think for yourself, and stop complaining to newschoolers about how sad your life is.
 
Stop being such a bitch. Grow a pair and suck it up. If your really that much of a pussy and cant stand working then just tell your boss that. Say that you dont want to work anymore, or, I quit. Pretty fucking simple.
 
just be straight with him man, dont dance around the issue. say it isnt working out, it isnt what you expected, its not your kind of work. that way your cousin will still respect the fact that you were able to be honest, rather than coming up with some other bullshit excuse.

construction is definatly tough work tho man. i find the first 2 weeks suck absolute balls, but then you get into the grind and get used to it. the money is amazing so its definatly worth it if you can handle it
 
stop being a pussy, stick it out. You make mad amounts of cash working construction, and who doesnt need more money, i have yet to meet someone who didnt want more.

6-5? Harsh? Thats not harsh at all. Hell, after lunch break you probably only have a 10 hour work day. There's nothing harsh about that.
 
Find some easy job that lets you work inside. Tell him that you don't really like working construction and that you've found a new job. Thank him for the oppurtunity. And leave on good terms.
 
look for a new job, tell him you arent enjoying your work anymore so you want to try something else, ask him if there is anything you can do with different hours and inside, tell him youd like to help him out but what you are doing is causin too many problems for you now, tell him if there is no change you have another job offer (actually have one) make it something different than what you are doing now. If he doesnt give you something good to do take the new job but for only a couple days and then quit it, if he ever asks if you want to come back when he hears the other job fell apart tell him you need a break but maybe in a couple weeks. but you know very well your not going back.
 
im not being a bitch and trying to cry to u guys but everytime i am like.. this is alot more work then i expected and i don't think construction is for me he basically tells me what u guys r telling me..suck it up. he should be more understanding and its pissing me off..adter a day of work i feel like shooting myself. my friends call and wanna do shit but im so fuicken tired and when i do shit i have to be to bed early so i can wake up in the morning..it's gay.

just fricken quit. summer jobs are ghey anyways. I just make enough money so i can ski. some people take working way too serious. im gunna go to college to be a chiropractor and will make lots of money eventually.
 
Working construction 6am - 5pm is more than just work. That's insane. That in itself is a pretty good reason to quit. There's a reason the construction unions won't allow workers to work more than 8 hours a day. You can't be expected to do physical labor for 11 hours a day and have the energy to do anything else.
 
Haha, you're getting raped. Doing construction around here you start at $10-12 and move up pretty quickly from there.

But anyways, just tell him that your sandy vagina is starting to drip, he'll understand. Either that or go buy yourself a box of tampons and suck it up for a month. Construction really isn't too terribly hard, I've been doing metal buildings in 90-95 degree weather 9-10 hours a day and it hasn't unbearable. But I also don't have a sandy vagina.
 
Well man you are in a pickle, I would just call him and quit over the phone but line up another job so my rents don't get on my ass for having no work..
 
Ok you kinda sound like a bitch. You have a fuckin hard ass job just because your mom makes you??? And you say you have plenty of money, what does that mean, your mommys money? But then you said you don't need money anyway... To top it all off, you told your boss you want to quit and he basically called you a pussy? What kind of bitch are you, either grow a pair and work till the summers over or just quit.

On the flip side of the coin though, 11 hour days of hard ass labor in this heat sucks a big one for sure. You gotta start somewhere though, and the grass is always greener. No matter what job you get its gonna suck balls at some point./
 
just tell him you quit, he can't make you keep working there. maybe he might NEED you there for another few day, but he shouldn't be able to make you stay.
 
Oh and $8 an hour for 11 hour days of construction thats bullshit. Nothing harsh about a 55 hour work week? Bullshit thats mad overtime pay where I come from, those are long ass hours of hard ass work. Get a job at a grocery store or something, its boring as shit but you get to chill inside anyway.
 
i had one..but then we moved..and i never bothered applying because i decided to just ski instead of work..then i broke my ankle and couldnt do much of anything. now i can't apply anywheres else cuz i leave in a month so noone will hire me..and my uncle did it as a favor for my mom.
