Imagine if that was the kit lens instead of 18-55 and variable aperture bullshit

People would have a much better time learning

Congrats on the lens!

NICE!

i think im getting this for my t2i because of the constant ap. and vibration compensation and it looks great for video.

yet i still kinda wanna get the canon 17-40 f/4.ol

I have that lens as well. It's a great compliment to the 1.3x crop of my 1dmk4, super wide without any loss of dof

i picked up this lens brand new on ebay for cheap and its a great lens forsure man. its nice and wide and has some zoom to it too. love it.

This is a stop faster, has more zoom, and vib reduction. I'd suggest it over the L glass, even though that is nice

I'm realizing that when i'm on the hill primes are going to be so much harder to work with, but I guess for the quality you have to make sacrifices

i had the same dilemma but the tamron is actually sharper than the canon in most cases..+ shooting sports and even indoor life sucks with f/4 cuz you'll need high iso..when i get to buy a telephoto though i'd buy a canon L for sure..

zoom lenses are for people who don't want to use their legs. I'd rather walk another X ft. if it means having edge-to-edge sharpness.

work?

no zoom lens that is less than $3,000 is going to match the edge-to-edge sharpness of Zeiss primes.

Zoom lenses are great for telephoto. But for wide angle, primes win all the way.

Although I am utterly surprised at the IQ of Tokina wide angles for being non-primes. My Tokina 11-16 acts damn near a prime at 11mm.
