I got F@#$ed over by the Roundtop Security

please, do not say that if you go to court. Just don't say it at all. Court is an option, but then you put your pass at risk and overall is it really worth it?

Yea that is my boss he usually is pretty chill, but he has been getting sick of people actually stealing his kiddie poles, because he started out with 50 pairs of 90s and is down to 6 pairs. I don't think the reason that he said somthing was because you were wearing a tall tee, Ive worked in a tall tee before. Although that is probably how he made the connection that you ride park and a large majority of people at rountop have rental poles and he knows that park riders like small poles.

Yea Roundtop is real serious about their poles lately ha. You used to be able to ask to borrow a set. Now you have to go co-op to grab a pair. Next time roll out of the sliding doors.

it's hard out there for a pimp.

seriously.

next time take a pair off of the ski rack. if a gaper says that they lost their poles, nothing happens to them.

call the mountain manager or someone of more authority than that security guy, they will usually help you out because they dont want their reputation getting wrecked

Usually I don't stand up for people who bitch about getting caught breaking a rule/law (such as stealing rental poles). But in you're case, I think I'd totally try to fight this. If the lifty took your poles, and told you to go get rentals, then I think what you did was totally justified. The lifty is just as much a resort employee as the rental guy and security. You were being a good customer and following directions. You cold have just as easily told the lifty to fuck off.

for having over 4k posts, i would expect a less retarded response. the liftie took his pole and told him to get a new one. read the thread.

Fuck Ski Roundtop...Your story sounds more-than-typical. I've skied there for many years and every single one of my friends has gotten shit from employment for no reason, or reasons similar to yours. I've been kicked out of that place (for reasons unnamed) and I never want to to go back. Employees there are on tiny mountain power trip.

Side Notes:

Their kiddie poles are perfect for stealing

that doesnt really apply in this situation. it sound like he legitly followed what the guy said.

i skied at Camelback mountain in northern PA yesterday, and a "camelback ranger" wrote me a "ticket" for doing a 180 off a cat track. the worst thing is that i was warned about the patrollers there, and i didn't see a red jacket anywhere.

"rangers" at camel back wear yellow.

it seems that camelback has 2 divisions of ski patrol. one like your normal patroller, and one that acts as the secret police, called the "CAMELBACK RANGERS." it must be because of all the new yorkers....

whatever

PA has aids.

i woudlve brought in the liftie and made him tell his side of the story...so that atleast you dont you get the fall.

i amm the events guy at RT so i will be taking this into my hands to try and help you out. That is straight rediculous. Head security is in tomorrow night

I would usually agree to this, but they definitely over reacted and even bent the story. They said that he was tucking them under his shirt when he wasnt? And if (i'm not sure if he told them) the liftie told him to get poles, then he "technically" wasnt doing anything wrong because the resort gave him the order to do so.
What I would do is go in person with an adult (preferbly one that has a good background about the law) and talk to management. It's one thing if it was the end of the day or something and they just told you to leave, but you got ripped off a LOT of money. Tell them the exact story, dont bullshit anything and work something out. Don't come off as a dick about it, but obviously dont be a pussy either.

I live too far away to want to drive there to complain, but i sent a letter to the General Manager today saying what happened, and i hope i get a response, if not i will call him, or i might go back when the other mountains in the area close. I forgot to mention him making up that i put them under my shirt. fuck and i left out all the shit he made up about to the security guard. Well anyways, the rental poles at Roundtop are Composite poles by Salomon, so...

Yeah, if you were to get caught stealing poles for real some time roundtop poles are definately worth it, the roundtop pro model has features other resorts leave out of their rental poles including but not limited to: hand grips, baskets, colored shafts, and if your lucky some roundtop pro model poles also come with a phoenix feather much like harry potters wand. So remember come to roundtop and you might just get lucky!

I know right and this might not seem like the right place to be saying this but roundtop has stepped up their game with the throwback park thats up, roundtop is worth coming out to and i can finally say that with confidence

The jumps have been a bit iffy because of how short the park and pipe crew had to make the landings, could only cram so many hits onto fife.

wow that is complete bull shit.

you should have done what i did.

i live 20 mins outside of annapolis and we got like 8 inches so i found a hill, made a few rails, a stall, put some picnic tables together, and then found some friends.

i skied the last three days on a fair amount of snow in my own little park 2 minutes walking from my house.

best couple of days in the last month for me

i seshed my backyard setup for a few hours today too.

we have a canoe, a tiny wall ride table mini bonk,

and then a shot gun rail

i also have a model dog

ummm no? its not because of the park and pipe crew how we had to make the landings. It depends on how much snow is available to make the landing taller therefore the landing longer and how much joe wants to groom.

lol yeah amplids you caught us. we started carrying snow over from recruit sunday night shovel by shovel, every park crew member... but there wasnt enough time. wednesday morning hit and we just couldnt carry anymore snow. we were too tired. the story of why the landing are too short. just blame us. thanks devan.

just kidding. but yeah what matt said^

What's funny, i was in the roundtop's park and i found an extra pole basket, but too bad i lost my keys that day.... i suck at life

From what you said, you got the typical roundtop power trip. Let us know what ron hawkes says.

this incident certainly isn't helping roundtop's rep at a time when they ARE really stepping up.

first off you need to fight the citation. second roundtop security are assholes and treat peopl liek shit cause they are on a power trip

rt's General Manager Ron Hawkes rhawkes@skiroundtop.com but he is pretty much an asshoel too. but any way it wasnt theft or theft of service cause you never actually took anything. and if you have a snowtime season pass theere was no reason you need to pay for a ticket as weel they strait rapped you haha good old RT any way to make a buck.
