so how does it come out in the perfect three layers all the time. youd think itd get all mixed up and stuff but nope it always comes out in those three perfect layers. how does it work?

oh shit you mean aquafresh or whatever? ive always wondered that too.

also, the blue colgate is the most delicious tasting thing ever

Um Im guessing there are 3 chambers inside the tube separated by thin plastic or something, and each chamber goes directly to one of the 3 nozzles.

Somebody used their head

haha I was wondering too

oh and I fuckin hate your icon, I look at it and just wanna strangle my dick. Other than that, have a good night.

fucking epic post, almost sig worthy im thinking about it. but ya there are 3 chambers, have you never looked at the clear plastic ones!?

Ok beaners, so after close inspection of my toothpaste I think that I have no idea really, I would be able to feel separators in there.

Somebody go fut one open, all I have is a almost new one and I need it so somebody else needs to sacrifice one for the good of ns, and take pics.

I JUST threw away my old toothpaste... but it wasn't one with stripes in it, and my roommate took her's with her, so I can't really cut her's open. Toothpaste has evaded me for years. I always wondered what the difference was between each one because the ingredients are the same... why some cost more and other's less... One time I went to Target and was so perplexed by all the different brands and kinds I just went home and didn't buy any at all and called my mom. Yeah... definitely a sign of a college kid away from home.

there are way too many kinds of everything..

toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, dish detergent, tofu depending on the supermarket

pretty much done my toothpaste, so I would cut it open but it's not the striped kind. Maybe tomorrow I'll buy some striped toothpaste! personally I'm betting on no barriers. the gel seems stiff enough to not mix together in the tube. but I could be wrong

yeah, but you'd think that near then end it would get all mixed together after being mushed so much. Someone cut open some toothpaste already.

I like the palin colgate better than the layers. I think they are kinda weird. My cousin has transparent blue toothpaste with glitter. Its trippy.

i dont think theres any plastic dividers in the tooth paste. it would just cost more money. i think it just happens naturally.

2) To keep the cost of packaging to a minimum, it is now common for

tubes to be filled with striped paste (e.g. Aquafresh). As the tube is

squeezed, the stripes flow parallel to each other and do not mix. The

patterned paste that gets dipensed is simply a narrower version of what

is in the tube. Filling is done using a multi-nozzle filling head that

dispenses a different colored stripe in each direction. To keep the

stripes parallel to the axis of the tube, the head starts at the bottom

and retracts as it fills, staying just above the level of the paste.

Tubes with two compartments are generally reserved for toothpastes

containing two formulas intended to react together and therefore kept

isolated until dispensed (e.g. Colgate Simply White).

wow

but that means when you get to the end of the tube, the 3 colors should be mixed, because it gets squished where you squeeze. are they?

i always find that the first quirt of toothpaste is the best for some reason dunno if its me or not...

im guessing the other colour may be a different substance that is denser or less dense, so one floats on top of the other.

haha well 2 things

it says to squeeze rom the backso maybe there arent any barriers and also with some of my tooth pastes they get all mixed together at the end

haha

i think they should sell toothpaste that is is different colors as you go through the tube. when it first starts out its blue and then segways through the whole rainbow and eventually ends up at some other random color that means you need a new tube soon

who ever knew there was so much to be said about toothpaste...

but just to get one thing clear here. The kids toothpaste flavors EASILY taste the best. c'mon guys

the toothpaste starts out as all the same color, white, but when light reflects off of it the chemical formula exposes different pigmentations

haven't you always wondered why tooth paste is so expensive? there's a whole universe of magical midget fairies inside each tube, struggling to keep the balance of the red white and blue balanced. the fairies use magical magic spells to make invisible barriers that only work against tooth paste, thats why there's "no barriors" in the tooth paste tube when you cut it open, there invisible to everyone except magical midget tooth paste fairies or toothpaste its self. hope this clears things up

The stripes don't mush together to start with because adjectives the

mushing usually happens lower down the tube (where you press) and the

pressure newly pushes non-mushed toothpaste that is further up the tube

out. The paste are thick satisfactory not to mix well. Also, if you

press within the middle of the tube, it just pushes the toothpaste up

or down away from where on earth you pressed and pressing in another

place does indistinguishable, so it's just sliding up and down the

tube, to some extent than getting properly mixed.

However, by the time you get to the expiration of the tube, there is a

slight mixing of the colours, a moment ago due to all the previous

squeezing eventually managing to mix it somewhat.nn
