The difference is that Ralph Lauren is QUALITY! A&F and Hollister is shit clothing, you pay $100 for a ripped pair of bleached jeans. Sorry, I can do that myself. Or you pay $60 for a frayed overshirt...cool? At least Polo RL is good quality.

I can testify that showering does not help the smell of your jeans. I showered every day, and wore the same jeans and they smelled really bad.
 
definitely not true, i g months without washing my jeans and i wear them about every day in the winter and people can't even tell they are dirty or smell bad at all. As long as you dont sweat in them you should be fine. Washing jeans = unnecessary unless you somehow get them really dirty

its mostly polos and shit like that, stuff that usually really expensive but didnt sell, so the sell it there for 1/3 the price. more than 1/2 the stock of the one near me is like nautica, polo, RL, and stuff like that. sometimes you will even find abercrombie or american eagle stuff like that there
 
yea tj maxx is the shit, they sometimes even have oakley stuff, pretty much every awesome company you can think of. It's like salvation army, but with new items!

I think we appeal to the girls who we want to attract, so the majority of the kids in this thread like the 'down to earth' girls who possibly ski and dont try hard. i on the other hand and this ajay character probably try for the hot girls who try hard and who are 'fake materialistic bitches'.
 
jea, good point, we appeal to the girls we want, but some people have no idea about that... since a lot of kids on here are 15 or under they will have no idea. I only started trying to dress well when i was around 15 or 16 then you develop something called style and it gets better and better as you get older. I used to be a thug ass gangster rapper in gr 8, i had no idea that the only girls that would find that attractive were gnarly ass hood rats but this was also because i went to a gangster ass middle school and played bball. when i started gr 9 my style changed pretty much over the summer, i began to wear clothes that appealed to hot girls that i wanted, i wasnt doing it just for them and you NEVER should should do that, find a clothing style that suits you but doesnt hinder your chances with the hotties.
 
$200 jeans is very stupid, whether you can afford it or not. you're speaking for everyone when you say the ONLY REASON guys call girls bitches is because they are frustrated with them or cant get with them. SOME girls are bitches, MOST of the time, regardless of whether gettin with them or not. Just cause a girl doesnt wanna fuck someone doesn't mean they are a bitch, they have their reasons.

before I purchased jeans that were that expensive, i thought it was stupid too. until i realized i'd rather have a few clothes of way higher quality then a bunch of shitty clothes. I have spent 300$ on pants over christmas, they fit perfectly, like a glove, for anyone who is pinner like me i highly recommend buying a pair of boss pants. but anywho thats not the point i was trying to get at. You probably dont even talk to any of these 'dumb materialistic girls' and i keep putting that in quotes because there really not. You probably walk by them and think whoa shes pretty hot but never talk to her because you think she'd shut you down, and she might cause you might have no idea how to talk to them. I have gone out with many 'dumb materialistic girls' and I can tell you one thing, and that is that there not at all. All of the girls ive gone out with have been very intelligent girls, they might like to dress well and spend heaps of money on clothes but thats really just it, the 2 nicest girls i know are probably also the most down to earth people as well.

98% of Women don't know what "well dressed" means. Just like 98% of guys don't. This includes you, and probably all of the girls you've ever tried to pick up. Girls like some pretty stupid shit on guys. I recently read a thread on styleforum with a girl posting things she and her friends wish their boyfriends would wear. It was atrocious. Women basically have no clue. Some do... but not the ones guys are typically trying to attract when they dress to go to the club.

You could look at anyone's style and criticize it, but you'd have no idea what you're talking about. It'd sort of be like a weekend warrior criticizing Pollard and Pep's skiing ability. Some people know a lot more than you do about fit, colour, proportion, lines and quality in shoes and clothes, it's as simple as that. These people, however, do not wear hollister, and they don't wear the stuff Ajay wears either. I didn't read most of his posts in here, but I wouldn't be surprised if he DOES try to pick up fake, materialistic, and pretty hot bitches, and I'm sure his style is optimal for doing so. It's still pretty terrible though, in terms of, for example, fit, proportion, quality, and colour palette.

200 dollars is just what good jeans cost. Like I said, check out www.selfedge.com or www.denimbaronline.com, both have a great selection of well made raw jeans. I think the entry level of that kind of denim is the APC New Standard at about $145, going up to 300ish for various Japanese made brands. Paying 200 for much better made raw jeans is absolutely encouraged in my book. The problem is paying 200 (or in most cases now, 300+ for Rocks and Religions) which are poorly made, look ridiculous, and are only expensive because they're hyped. Thus the term "Hypebeast". Case in point. Boss is pretty much trash. Recommend incotex, kiton, borelli, or uniqlo if you want something less pricey, but Boss does not make nice pants. And I own several Boss items. They're ok... but the brand should not be recommended to people who don't know any better.
 
Triple post: I'm not hating on you guys for trying to get laid by hot girls. Do what you gotta do, getting laid is fun. Just don't get an ego and start thinking you're well dressed just because you got some chick to take her panties off for you while you're wearing that trash. That's what most guys who dress like you do, and that, and not their clothes, is precisely what makes them douchebags.
 
j.d. you would be proud of my recent j. lindberg blazer acquisition, however, you will not find me going out in clothing that has name brands raped across the chest, nor the "club stripe" button downs, they look and fit like shitttt, while i do have some hollister and abercrombie shit, it's not something i wear out, it's something i wear to work or to lounge around the house in.

also, a simple graphic tee with a blazer or a button down with a french cuff + blazer, is what you'll usually find me going out in, coupled with a pair of raw denim and some diesel sneakers
 
Who cares anymore, as long as we can all unanimously agree that Hollister is one of the worst frauds in clothing.
 
sorry man, im gonna have to disagree on this one, even though those other ones you mentioned are nice as well. but i have armani, seven, lacoste, acne and jlindeberg pants and the boss ones do fit the best, this is just what i find, though maybe its just those specific ones because i have another pair of boss pants and they dont fit nearly as well and arent nearly as high in quality. Acne jeans though, are amazing, for jeans there completely worth the price.
 
as a side note that id like to add, i dont have anything hollister except for a hoodie, im just backing this kid up because i have no problem with people who wear it, and i think they make decent looking clothing.
 
Owning all of these myself, I can tell you that none meet particularly high standards of quality. JL and Acne are great for styling, but you buy them for cut not quality. I really like Acne stuff though, so the styling makes up for that value loss. Armani isn't really a brand... quality, style, and general stupidity depends heavily on line. Emporio Armani might as well be outlet mall crap from a department store, Armani Exchange should be burnt, not worn, and killing the Mani line was the best idea that company has had in ten years. However, Le Collezioni isn't bad, and Black Label stuff is still quite good, though nowhere near the stuff I posted earlier anymore. Lacoste and Seven are mall brands and aren't really worth mentioning. I have a pair of 7fams that are light, skinny and nicely dark washed (look kind of like Nudie's flame selvedge), but I'd be surprised if they last 50 wears.

The problem with hollister, simply put, is branding. Without the big "Hollister" on the front, it'd just be an average hoodie with mediocre construction. That'd be wearable. This isn't:

^ thats an extremely good point, it really isnt high quality or anything.. but i think thats not why a lot of people in this thread are hating on it.. there just hating on it because of the styling and what it represents.
