the one I am thinking about is a 2.7 Li inline 6, AWD! it is only $2k! there is also a Turbo inline 4, wich i would rather have but there isn't any in my area (better gas millage without much loss in proformance).

Thats a primitive AWD setup, no LSDs front or rear. There might be an aftermarket solution. That should only matter on real slippery roads or if you are driving fast, any AWD is better than no AWD.

I'm a fan of turbo AWD's.

LSD = Limited Slip Differential. A differential (diff) splits up torque. on a AWD, you have 3 center, front, rear. the center one splits power front/rear and the front and back split power left/right. On a LSD, when one wheel starts to spin, power gets routed to the the wheels that ARENT spinning for more grip. Without an LSD, when a wheel starts to spin, all the power gets routed to it making it spin more. This is why on most FWD or RWD cars, only one wheel spins. But like I said, any AWD is better than no AWD and that car will run circles around other cars/trucks in the snow. You could always get a Phantom Grip LSD if you wanna build it up more. Because the car is rare, parts might be expensive. If you enjoy working on cars, go for it. That thing will probably be a blast to drive. The 4cyl turbo will probably have more power than the i6 .

wierd thing is the turbo 4 cyl only produces 115 hp which is jacked. The straight six makes 145 hp and then you could turbo or supercharge it and it would be a beast. I guess the turbo 4 cyl doesnt have a intercooler, there is a XT6 on ebay right now, you should check it out if you are serious. If i had the money i would buy that right now but i am rather poor.

Yeah you could do all that shit to it... but putting a turbo on a non-turbo motor is fucking expensive... if he is only willing to spend 3 grand on a car... it aint happening. You could get like 30-40 hp outa just putting in a new chip a better flowing filter/cold air intake and a free flow exhaust...

yeah i realize he probably doesnt wan to turbo it, im just talking about the potential of the car, its a pretty unique car and stuff. and it might be hard to find a chip for it considering its old and rare.

It just has so much room for your skis. I don't like racks because they are brutal on your skis (salt, rocks, etc.). Eh, better then no car I guess.

ya but there is this site www.xt6.org asside from the name, they also have norm and turbo xts. the ste admin says that the turbo is way easyer to custimize and tune. he said that with a little easy modification you could get atleast 135 hp out of the turbo

ya. as you know they are a rair car. there is a XT-6 for sale inour area. I would rather have a turbo 4 because of the gas milage but I will take what I can get

not sure about the outback, but I almost bought an SVX once. In my area, SVX's are overpriced. They are all automatic and converting to a manual is a pain. So as long as you dont mind an auto. The rear wheel bearings wear out every 40000kms (no biggie, just keep on it) And the tranny needs some attention to make it last (again not too serious) That would be one sweet ride.

the mantenance on the SVX makes it too expensive for me right now.

one option for me is suggesting to my mom that I get a racing seat and harness. the harness would do just as much as a air bag.

and no I don't live in a trailer. I am getting a junker first car that I don't need colision insurance on.

yay. the car is bassically mine! we have to get it checked out by a mechanic. they guy who ownes it now was the original owner. he is older and seems like he has taked real good care of it. his whife has gotten a almost new WRX and has license plates that say 'HOT-GRAN'

hahaha thats funny you think a K&N filter is gonna add 20 hp. Yea right dude a new airfilter isnt gonna add shit, your car wont feel any different after you put it on, you will just get a tiny bit more power which is barely noticeable and it will make your engine sound cooler and might make your gas mileage better. Other than that air filters dont add much to your car and whoever told you that is an idiot. 20 hp is a lot, i guess my 135 hp celica has 155 hp because i have a K&N filter too, man thats amazing because its still as slow as ever.
