but im not sure how insulated this one is. it says 120/80g insulation but i realy dont have any idea how good that is. help on if this is just like a shell or what?

but layer and you should be fine in anything else

Its not a shell i have the Pals Zig Zag and it identical to that jacket. It is thick enough to keep you warm in a -20 Celsius.

It says 5000/8000 stripe fabric the waterproofing??

If so that jacket aint got shit for waterproof/breathability. If you are in colorado or utah you are fine but anywhere coastal your gonna get raped.
