I fucking hate anime.

i don't have tv either but i have the internet. i'm not going to bother asking why a name would anger you, it means about as much as every other name on this planet.

I thought it was translated to english haha. Is "samurai" the same in english as Japanese?

I'm not ethnocentric or racist or anything. I only hate a few certain sub cultures and one of them just happens to be heavily related to Japanese pop culture.

I've got lots of friends and I know for sure that the anime and the fans are hated there as well.

Fuck all of you Fullemtal Alchemist is easily and by far the TV series I have ever watched. And no I don't just watch anime, I've watched a lot of other non-anime TV series, and nothing can compare

A lot of theanimefans in this thread are doing a pretty good job of validating op's point and making anime seem stupid as fuck. Out of all the shit though, there's definitely some good stuff. Like samurai Champloo and cowboy bebop which have already been mentioned several times. But I feel like the fan base that anime has does a good job of making people hate it. Frickin neck bearded greaseballs who watch anime all day.

This. There's a big difference between the greasy fat fucks that sit at home all day masturbating to softcore erotic anime porn on Netflix, and then there's people like me who will pick a decent series to watch (ex. FMA, Claymore, Cowboy Bebop, etc.) and I'll watch a couple episodes a night.

Take prohibition era gangsters, a non-linear Tarantino-esque plot line, throw in some satanic immortality elixer, and stuff all that into a train robbery. Here's the plot line

Claymore is fucking brutal:

Hajime no Ippo is good as well:

Berserk as well:

Princess Mononoke has one of the best English dubs I have ever seen:

To add on to my last post (sorry about dbl posting), The Boondocks is technically animated in the same style as anime from Japan and that last one I posted, Mononoke, is all about saving the environment and shit.

this is entertaining as fuck to read through this. but yea if you like anime, great, if you dont, great. leave eachother alone especially since you can literally avoid contact from the other group over the internet.

Ya some anime is super weird, but some of it is actually pretty cool. I never thought i would like an anime movie, but these two proved me wrong.

In my Writing through film class this semester we watched a couple anime movies and they were super tite. Spirited away is spooky and weird but a dope movie, and Princess Mononoke is just a tite ass movie all around.

It just kind of depends on what you watch

I'm a big fan of Miyazaki films, and Avatar the Last Air Bender/ Legend of Korra; besides that i haven't really gotten into any other Anime.

Here's some trailers for Miyazaki films. I would highly recommend, they're great

Spirited Away:
Princess Mononoke:
My Neighbor Totoro:

This is his latest movie, and supposedly its his last. I have yet to see it.

I went ahead and got my old icon back...

...but anime is annoying as fuck. I don't know what I expected to find when I clicked on this thread.
