I fucking hate acne

i knew a kid with alot of acne and he cuts himself. moral of the story is sloppy joes are to messy to be school lunches

I used to have it really bad, tried all the cleansers and creams and whatnot, and then I got some antibiotic pills from the doc, (not sure exactly what kind) and it went away virtually overnight. I don't even wash my face anymore, and the only time I get more than one or two small zits at a time is if I run out of the pills and don't get a new bottle for a few days.

i had reallybad acne wheni was like 13ish, stop eating sweet stuff, using facial washes alot, went away, i get like 1 zit every 2 weeks which is just normal

Im 19 and luckily am over that shit for the most part, I'll get a whitey here and there but its not bad.

I got pills prescribed for that shit like 4 years ago, its super cheap you just gotta get a doctors appointment. But then again its just a fucking phase you go through and have to live through it....

im 23 and have it now worse than ever. ive also tried combating it more now than ever. i think im just gonna try doing absolutely nothing and see how that works. ive used literally every method i can think of other than accutane and nothing works. i really think with all the scrubbing and putting chemicals on your face it might make it worse. when i was like 16-20 i didnt do much at all for acne, and id get break outs like 1-2 times a month. now its almost constant.

so im gonna start this week getting off the cleansers and lotions and scrubs i use. and keep it to just a super mild natural lotion type thing for when/if i get dry. other than that. no soap or anything, just water on my face. its worked for a lot of people so i might as well try.

I see in this thread that tons of people are just yelling out the names of acne medication, that's not going to help. What you need to do is go to a dermatologist and have them decide what's best for you. Also lazer treatment helps a lot too.

i was in a VERY similar situation freshman year of high school and i got some advice form my science teacher. he said "drink water like a camel and your skin will clear up, its science"

for the rest of freshman year(started drinking water around christmas) i always had a gallon jug of water everywhere i went. if i had my phone and my wallet, i had my jug of water too. i was probably drinking around 2-3 gallons a day. Took 2 and a half weeks and all my acne cleared up. every single piece. only had 1 pimple all of freshman year after i started drinking water, and by sophmore year i had outgrown my acne. every once in a while ill get a small breakout when im really really stressed, but nothing that wont go away in a day or two. i almost feel like i trained my body. but who knows.

yeah my had a friend who did this. didn't do shit for him cos he drank and got zooted just about everyday he was on it so he has to do it again. my other friend didn't do any of that and it worked really well for him. i suggest giving it a try

Yeah I heard that water helps and wanna try it. Im in the situation you were in freshmen year right now it sucks.

I've been on accutane twice now and I still have it. I wash my face twice a day and change my pillowcase every night. Fuck this BS i'm going to try drinking a shitload of water.

accutane fucking works. i had terrible acne my freshman and sophomore years and took claravis (rebranded accutane) and it worked wonders. the only side effect is hella dry skin. then as soon as i was off it my skin was back to normal and acne free. i find myself to be much less self-conscious and more outgoing now. that shit works wonders.

This stuff works! Ive been on for a 2 months now and I see a huge difference, and i got it bad. My chest and face look great! The only bad side effect for me is chapped lips. Girls are not suppose to take it because it messes with pregnancies. It really does work though!

i was on accutane back when i was 18 or 19 and that shit absolutely works. however, it's brutal. it dries you the fuck up. i remember getting nose bleeds on occasion, my lips looked like hell as i was always peeling and chapped, i had to moisturize and wash my face like 3 times a day cause my skin was honestly starting to wrinkle and shrivel up like a prune. you gotta do that shit for like 6 months too.

but i guess in the long haul it's worth it. never had acne problems since. granted, growing out of that teenage oily hormone phase probably helped with that too. even when i exercise now, i dont stink like a mofo. teens are just greasy and smelly in general. your body is all fucked up and doesnt know what to do. growth spurt lankiness, hormone surplus, random boners, voice cracking, patchy facial hair.. man. glad that shit's in the past, hahahaa.

GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!!

Lankiness fucking sucks.

Hormones arent so bad.

Random boners, wear athletic shorts...

Voice cracking, provides lols.

Patchy facial hair, really sucks.

that deffinatly doesn't require Acutain, but get like a HCl pill from ur dermatologist, solve that problem. i took acutain tho, no more problems

I'm in my 4th month of accutane and it fuckin works! skin gets dry as fuck tho!

also can someone invite me to ladies men cult! I'll give u +k

Go to bed early, get as much sleep as you can. Avoid candy and junk food, eat a lot of veggies and fruits. Drink A TON of water everyday, chug that shit. Good luck brother.

Boil a pot of water on your stove and put your face over it into the steam for like 4 minutes so you sweat alot and then use your acne stuff. for me what i did is i steamed my face, put on the advanced proactiv face mask for 10 minutes, washed it with the regular stuff, and then the alcohol. my acne is pretty much gone now and i havent done this in a while and i use it have it really bad. Also a heads up, keep your hands away from your face, when you eat dont wipe your entire face with your hand, also if your in class during a teacher's lecture and your kinda tired, dont use your hand as a head rest, use your backpack or something and it will go away pretty quick.

here is my tip: use dial liquid soap-- straight up just the typical dial orange liquid hand soap.

It is antibacterial and it's what they tell you to use on new piercings and tattoos-- so it is mild and shouldn't irritate. I've heard some say it kills good bacteria too so it isn't good to use-- but I've been using it six years and it has kept my skin very clear. I also get told I look young for my age every day of my life-- not sure if it is related, but it might be!

I'm only a freshman, but I use Murad that I got from Massage Envy (my family owns one don't hate)

tetralycal? My sister had terrible skin in hs, then she started eating that and now no one could tell she used to suffer from severe acne. She needs to take care of her face like crazy though, so the stuff wont come back. I think I heard something about not exposing your face to direct sunlight too often, like use sunscreen and stuff as well.

yea as long as you dont get in the sun a ton and if you are your putting on sun screen then it helps.

i had really bad acne all through middle school and parts of freshmen year then i got on dioxycycling i belive its called.... but any ways that stuff works wonders. then last summer i went to work at a summer camp all summer got off of the pill and then i tried the water method it works fairly well i dont really have a big problem now as long as you just wash your face every morning and night NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE WITH YOUR HANDS then it works.... also one thing thats good to do is when your at school and your skin looks really oily then use a paper towel in the bathroom to soak it up.

About the oil thing I just you these anti oil wipes that work that I store in a locker. Just use it like mid day and your all good!

Drink a lot of water, avoid fast food and fatty food. Eat healthily a lot of fresh food and it will really help.

I'm taking it. It's not as bad as It may seem, yeah it makes you hella dry but in the long run its worth it. My skin is getting clearer slowly but surely. I'd recommend going to a dermatologist and seeing what your options are.

what do you mean in the long run its worth it. your skin is going to clear up on its own 'in the long run', so accutane is only valuable in the short term.

only take this if you have a genuiine need for it, like youre 25+ and are gonna have scars or w.e.

it is a serious drug

no, in the long run, without accutane, you end up with pock marks and scars all over your face.

for the vast majority of users, one cycle of accutane and they are acne free for life. Its worth it...in the long run.

i used to have acne when i was younger. i treated it with tea tree oil toner. it worked virtually instantly.

nowadays i just use clearasil face wash.

TIPS:

1. don't sleep on the sides of your face

2. some other NS'er mentioned this, change your pillow case frequently

3. drink water

4. eat healthy
