i think a lot of those kids on the burton site didn't get the context of the edit either. They don't know that it is a super unknown entry or what the contest is for that matter, and edit which in based on show casing talent, not the artistic ability of the editor and filmer.

but yeah, those kids were pretty arrogant, they're stuck in the idea, "anything different from what i do is lame"

its so true that he looks like a top though, he needs to try some presses or just stop spinning so much, its cool and all once and awhile, but it gets really old.
 
Absolutely. Having lived in the mountains and out of the mountains I will say that the boarders who lived in the mountains were far cooler than the others.

There are idiots in both sports. Some of the posts defending skiing look to me as if they are done by skiers who just joined the site. I would try not to do that. Don't stoop to their level.

the mammoth trap box picture i think would be steezy, but the picture isnt really showing it. gap to front board would be sick, and usually when people do front boards they look under there leading arm, hence the ninja about to pounce style he has goin in that picture

as to the no poles thing, i think poles look better, i mean ya they dont help in park, but personally i would hate to ditch my poles in the morning and want to ski something besides park and not have my poles.
 
holy shit that edit. Do we get to see that kid in comps and vids next year? I really hope so. I haven't been that stoked on a rider since T Heed's Wicked segment.

As for all the hate on his 'dancing around on rails'... that's how you make it look good, fucking rewinds and pretzels and shit. The kind of dancing around on boxes that pisses me off is like what pretty much every rider in the X-Games did, 270 on, sw up, sw up, 270 out, all spinning the same way. This kid is sick as fuck.

stfu with all this shit about Pollard. Yes he's a god at skiing, has redefined BC shit, ect, ect... But he is NOT the end all be all to style. Quite frankly, I think some of his shit looks goofy as hell with those wide skis. But this kid is 10x steezier than Pollard.

If you don't like the spining, click the X at the top of the browser window and pop in one of your BC centered DVDs. Comps and park are about progressing shit, not doing 'nice, slow, stylish sw5s' like everyone says.
 
I think it all comes down to the fact that some places still don't allow boarders(not that you would want to board there) and until that changes there will still be haters.
