Hey M&A,

Its been awhile, haven't really been on NS in quite some time.

This summer Evan McEachran and Monster approached me and asked me if I was interested in making a video, seeing as its been quite some time since ive shot skiing I couldn't pass up the opportunity. We had some air issues from all of the forest fires which caused us to re think our original plan for the video and this is what we came up with!

Let me know if you guys have any feedback,

Thanks!

Thanks guys,

I really appreciate the positive feedback, hopefully I can make something again like this winter.

SO SICK!

Dude I think you and I keep being in the same place at the same time and I just don't recognize you. Its like you became a different person, lol.

Looking back, I think I saw you filming this at momentum when I dropped by the lane.

Awesome job!

I'm curious as to how you captured the audio. Did you attach a mic to the talent? Also what camera system did you shoot this on? FS700 or FS7?

Again nice work!

Interested in the audio as well. I assumed you used foley.

filming was insanity. Really really well done. Only thing I didn't like was the audio. Just seemed fake/over done for me. Idk the aerial shots with the audio just bugged me, seemed like it was too clear for how far away the skier was. But whatever. Dope shit man, you've come such a long way.

Yo Zach. Wasn't really feeling this one. I understand you guys had some problems and it's always different working with a client but I feel like I've seen this edit before. Pretty generic shots. Mountain standing shots were cliche and didn't have meaning. We've seen you perfect the glide cam style but now I'd like to see you push into new territory. Pave the way for a new style or some new types of shots. Great vid for a client that wants that type of vid, but I'd like to see you push your vision more.

Obviously I'm not qualified to have constructive criticism for you, but I see where mBall is coming from and would like to add to his thoughts.

It was suuuper dope but forgettable. It lacked creative flow (for lack of a better term, if it even makes sense). Had some cool creative shots, but they kinda stood out like they didn't have a place - the ending shot is the best example. Really sick shot, but.. why? If it had some sort of story or something behind it it'd have been 100x cooler. It got me hyped for him to jump off of it.

That being said, I'm still a big fan of yours and have loved all your work.

definitely enjoy the mix of wide and tight shots on rails. could be a little closer on your heli shots. from a trick perspective, i would have put the dub 12 before all 4 dub 10s. production value A+++ though, well played.

^ dis somewhat. it seemed to me very clearly created for a client and therefore overly generic. you obviously have great production value and smooth as glidecam/gimbal shots, but the edit to me kind of lacked intrigue. it seemed like your inspiration for the edit was the generic trend of ski edits in the past. you are a very talented videographer and are capable of digging deeper than simply arranging dope shots together!

don't misconstue this as hate at all man, clearly you still created a wicked pretty edit here, i just really wanna see something new outta ya (:

I fully am with you guys, I had a vision at the start of this project and I didn't get to produce it exactly how I wanted to.

That being said, I have a few projects on the table right now that I think will change that.

Stoked to share with you guys!
