1. They develop one of the first twin tips on the market just to start with.

2. They started the equal tip and tail hieght idea

3. Firsts to put in a 100% sidewall design for their twin tips.

4. Firsts to decide that center mounting your skis would be dope for park riding.

5. Had a totally equally proportional flexing ski. (meaning you could mount one ski backwards if you wanted to).

Then... they kinda deleted those ideas... went with 100% cap construction, made skis with almost no twintip, they made skis that were/are real stiff under the boot. Seems as soon as they turned their backs, all their ideas were revampted into another product (IE, the Scratch). Now theyre trying to get some of the action back by making sidewall skis again. Gotta have some sympathy for them. They come up with the ideas, they push the industry in the right and best direction, and the carpet gets pulled out from underneath them. Im not really a liberal hippie, but FUCK the CORPORATIONS. LINE is now seeming to be headed back in the right direction, so props to them. Every other company that just steals ideas and keeps the same skis for 3+ years... yall know what you can do.

thats how skis progress though, people backpack off others ideas if that didnt happen we wouldnt have as nice of a selection as we do now

I supported Line for several years until I realized that their skis pretty much suck. I don't ski Line anymore although I have a lot of respect for what Levinthal and crew have built. They're still better than the clowns at 4FRNT and the frat boys at Armada.

 
well if bindings didn't rip out of Lines so easily, I would consider buying a pair. but other than that, they are a VERY progressive company and hating on them is kinda like hating on Glenn Plake. Line is the reason for these newschool ski designs.

That is a bit bold of a statement and not very true at that. I think LINE is pretty cool. Did they single handedly revolutionize the industry? No.

 
i have gone through three pairs of TMs in 3 years... but my line's from three years ago.... are doing just fine. RSPKT. not to mention i know that if a pair of my line's did shit out on me, they would hook me up and make sure i was a happy customer.

well durability isn't a HUGE deal for me, since I can make enough money in the summer to buy another pair. but Im not gonna buy a durable ski I don't like though.

i was under the impression the K2 made the first twin tip, by salomon got all the regognition. But did LINE make the first and got no regignition coz the company isn't from the WEST COAST????

whaat that is not a race ski. race skis are like 64mm at the waist, and usually have more sidecut unless it's a super G or Downhill ski. and that ski doesn't look like it's 200cm long. so therefore, it has been deemed by Landis Tanaka that THAT ski is, in fact, a cruiser, and not a race ski. *bong bong* court is ajourned.

yeah damn strait cruisers are nothing like race skis. Just check out the FIS skis that hardcore racers use. $1,000 a pop! *whistles*

Wait, wait, i thought the olin's had the first twin; unintentional twin i think. But yeah LINE is awsome all around, they're pretty much the only company that actually puts out good park ski technology.

 
Think before you speak. Did you ride any of the FX stuff or the assasins from last year. I doubt it.

I'm not sure if your aware but they have an interchangable binding you can switch from ski to ski. (sarcasm) Why wouldn't they have skis to match all conditions and skiing types? It makes sense. Some of us ski 100 plus days a year. I don't always want to go to the park. Props to Line for re-inventing the binding. I for one will support them as much as I can.

 
up until this year, every single Line ski ever made was a disaster

there were always horribly constructed

but now that Line got rid of the 1260 and made the Invader, things might turn around

i was not talking about line bindings, and to Twix_182, i would not loose respect for them if a few racers used their skis, they made skis that were not gnna help progress the Newschool skiing at all and that were aimed at more of a racing style ski...my opinion is that they were attempting to just make more money by taping into another market,,,just my 2cents

1260s always sucked. this years stuff looks much sicker (as in performance wise) as opposed to that stupid cap constuction abbita cabbita dooshery.

my opinion, which is most likely wrong, is that they wanted more money so they got out a little bit broader, with the muney they can help our industry. yea that didnt make sense. i suck
