i haven't done a geometry proof in forever.
and we got one to for homework and i was wondering if someone smart here could help me.

heres the question:
The vertices of DEF triangle are D(-3,4), E(-1,-2), and F(3,2)A) find an equation of the altitude from vertex D of triangle DEFB) is the altitude from D also the median from D? explain your answer.C)prove that triangle DEF is isosceles

mad karma for the answer to this. i feel so dumb right now. i should know how to do this. brain fart.

thanks NS

I haven't taken geometry in 2 years but I'll give it a try

A)well you can use the mid point formula to find the altitude. and oyu know it is on the line EF, since D is the vertex

(-1+3)/2 and (-2+2)/2 = (1,0) so that is your midpoint and so using the distance formula again you get sqrt of 32 is the altitude.

C) Using the distance formula you find that DE = sqrt of 40 and DF = sqrt of 40, and EF= sqrt of 32, which all 3 of them can be simplified.

So since 2 sides are equal then it is isoceles

and I don't really get what they are asking in B

Hope this helps
