I feel "Blind" When I Spin to Fast...

Hey NS!

I recently landed my first FS 450 off ( which I'm pretty stolked on) and I noticed that when I spin fast and turn my head continuously to look for the landing, that I'm basically blind and can't see anything until the landing comes around.

Is there anything I can do to make me able to see more around the spin, cause just hucking off of stuff is very progressive, but I would like to have a little more control. Am I just not comfortable? Am I actually closing my eyes? I dunno...

Thanks guys!

If your spinning your not going to be going around and be like oh look a child and hm... theres the lift. Spinning, for the most part is blind. Its a feel thing. When I spin I only really look for the grab, grab it, hold it, and then on my last 180 to 270 around I find the landing.

even when I do 360s i cant see where im goin. i can just feel the roatation and no when to stop or w.e.

congrats on the 450!

i think everyone has this same problem. when i do a fast spin i kinda know whats going on but im really just staring at my grab. the last 90 degress is when i see the landing. but switch takeoffs are easier to spot your landing through out your spin

Word i think this is definitely a common issue.

I'm useless - somehow i'm ALWAYS blind when i spin. I end up hoping for the best

yea i used to close my eyes sometimes wen i did 3's my first year doing them. it felt so much more comfortable, but now most of the time i can look around and stuff

You know, if your body is in good healthy cardiovascular shape, you won't black out as easily in higher G-forces because the blood flow is much better.

try not smoking weed and skiing

its helped me quite a bit.

plus it makes blazing after skiing all that much more awesome.

yeah its same for me. I cant visualize what something like a 7 looks like. you just kinda do it. i know im not blind but like the only thing you look at for long enough for it to register is the landing.

I can tell vaguely what I am doing in the air, a lot of it isjust air sense, like knowing where I am in the rotation, you kinda have to try and be a compass. Something that helps me is having a goal in the air, like "If I want to do this fs 450, out, I just plan on landing switch, whicha I am able to tell easily during the last 90 degrees or so.

i feel for the grabs too when i spin its totally by feeling and i guess i just know when the landings coming and such

At first your spin will feel blind, it probably felt the same for 360s (except for the landing). But as you do them more and more you are able to know where you are in the spin. For fives, I spin as if I'm doing a three but go a little faster and spin a little faster. I spin the three and as I spot my landing I put in the last 180.

A good trick that helped me (and makes sure your eyes aren't closed), Is to after the first 180, look up at your sorroundings, then look back down for your landing.
