I feel bad for any team that has to face detroit

Holy shit, is anyone watching the flames-wings game? Detroit is murdering them! Kipper is the only reason why the flames are still in this game.

i still hate hasek. He's a bum. Put any goalie behind that team and you'd have just as good stats, if not better, as he does.

the avalanche would have strait up whooped detroits ass... yea thats right colorado representing... the red wing are by far my least favorite team... only the raiders come close to pissing me off as much as the wings

but the avs didnt make the playoffs haha... u got to admit they got hot at the end of the year

No way, the Avalance were killing it at the end of the season. They ended up 1 point behind calgary, but were like 16-2-2 for the last 20 games of the regular season. They would have carried that streak into the playoffs and beat detroit's ass.

Word. I remember the days of Patrick Roy (waa)/Forsberg/Sakic/Blake/Hejduke(sp?) vs. those Red Wing basterds.

And I'll never forget when we kicked your guys ass like 7-2 in the stanley cup game and Roy tried to stand up with the puck and dropped it into the net.

Too bad that Roy was and still is the best goalie ever. He's twice the goalie that Hashek ever was, is, and will be.

hasek is an over rated goalie that is cup greedy and just keeps going to the team that he thinks will take him there. Note I didn't say he will take the team there.

not gonna lie, he would have led us to the cup in 16 games flat last season if he hadn't yanked out his groin in the olympics...

anyhow, if you want to see something interesting, look up the lone game between the sens and detroit this season. 3-2 ottawa win, and it was one of the best games of hockey i've ever, ever seen. hasek outplayed by his former protege, emery... i'd say if you put those two teams together in the finals, magic will happen.

Pretty much any goalie could have done well with the team that Roy and Hasek were on. Probably 2 of the best teams of our lifetime.

Uhhhh... actually not even the best Red Wings team of our lifetime. That honour belonged to the 94-95 Wings, who lost in the finals to...

Martin Brodeur.

Wow, you must know nothing about the Red wings man... seeing as how they BOUGHT practically half of the current generation of Hall of Fame inductees to win the cup after the 94-95 season. Now, since the point I think you are trying to make is that Brodeur is an amazing goalie, I'll concede to that. He is a hell of a goalie. And I'm glad you agree that the only reason Detroit lost was because of Brodeur...

brodeur = best goalie ever.

luongo is kicking ass nowadays tho, he's already stolen a game for the canucks this round, and watch for him to do it again and again.

Brodeur is an amazing goalie, but I would have to rank him at #3 for best goalies in the league. The #1 and #2 spots are close, but I'd have to say #1 goes to Luango and #2 goes to Kiprusoff, both of them are amazing. Kiprusoff is the only reason detroit hasn't won each game 10-1, they put up 51 shots on him the last game.

KIPPERS is holdming them in it if thye have any chance and the devil smell a come back and crosby is a little pussy go BEIRE and st louis

No way dude, Detroit is always first ranked and Colorado always beats them in the playoffs.

I've been following the AV's hardcore since they first became a team.

Colorado has won 4 playoff series between Detroit and Detroit has only won 2.

Get over your self, Detriot is just full of guys with walkers.. they choke every year.. i picked them last year thinking they would go all the way, what did they do? lost to edmonton last year, and Calgary the other, i think its Vancovers turn to beat them...

pffff. go flames go!! haha. oh god.

and go sens too of course..but first and foremost GO FLAMES GO!

kippy is keeping them alive yes..but they also have good defense outside of kippy. though they're lacking on the forwards side, i think they'll pick it up at home..win the two games at home and make it back home again after that. :D we'll see tonight i guess!!!

Like who? Coffey and Cicarelli. That's IT. Practically every team has 2 important players they didn't develop, at LEAST. Look at this year. Lang and Hasek for Det, Pronger and Niedermayer for Ana, Luongo and Naslund for Van, Kariya and Forsberg for Nash, Guerin and Thornton for SJ, Ribeiro and Nagy for Dal, Demitra and Rolston for Minnie, Tanguay and Huselius for Cal, Briere and Drury for Buf, Langenbrunner and Matvichuk for NJ, Hossa and Tkachuk and half the team for ATL, Heatley and Comrie for Ott, Gonchar and Recchi for Pit, Jagr and Shanny for NYR, St Louis and Prospal for TB, Satan and Yashin for NYI. That was easy.

Here.

ALL Red Wing draft picks. They built that team. Not to mention that Maltby and Holmstrom followed soon after, and now their major threats are Datsyuk and Zetterberg, all of which are Wings draft picks. People who say Detroit buys or trades for their team don't know shit about shit. Talk to me about the Rangers or mid-to-late-90s Avs.

Uh yeah Av's definitely bought their team...Forsberg Sakic and Roy. Those were the only big timers they had.

They have only been a team since 1996.

You're also forgetting the wings buying Hull, Shannahan, and I'm sure there's more I can't think of.

The Av's had a lot of unknowns come in. Tanguay, Skoula, Krupp, Deadmarsh, Foote, the list goes on and on. A lot of young players made a start with the AV's. The Nordiques became the Av's, thus the reason Forsberg and Sakic played AGAIN on the same team. The Nordiques never did anything and they were even more stacked than the Av's, so don't try to pull that shit of Av's stacking.

you are a god for knowing that. ive always been a big detroit fan, i mean, i grew up on them, and i could only get 8 of those 11.

and to the guy who thinks they "bought" their team this year??? ok zetterberg and datsyuk...draft picks and huge power players for us. if you want to bitch, lets talk nashville or something. we've just had a consistent bunch of guys who turn out wins. they are well paid, but we didnt just buy any massive allstars. its the same guys putting up the same numbers. even without steve.

Well let's see. The 2002-2003 roster:

Chris Chelios

Sergei Federov

Brett Hull

Curtis Joseph

Igor Larionov

Pavel Datsyuk

Nicklas Lidstrom

Luc Robitaille

Mathieu Schneider

Brendan Shannahan

Steve Yzerman

Henrik Zetterburg

And if you really want to split hairs, you listed Darrn McCarty, who was probably one of the most overrated players on the Red Wings, so you can add him to the list if you WANT to...
