i study a-level science and environmental and for a case study i researched the state of frozen precipitation (snow) and it turns out that snow will increase all in all in a average all over the world but it will only fall in special places mostly surrounded by lakes of large water reserves ..... so places like some parts of nz will get like 12 times in some cases the amount of snow fall per year than usual

good or bad u decide :)

Copy That, and how did you come to that conclusion? I can only assume your relating it to Waters Specific Heat capacity and high IM forces which lets it regulate temperature, however lakes have very little bearing, only extremely large masses of water i.e. seas... But I might be missing something since it's late and it was pound-a-pint night....

Its only A Level science ( no offence , i only just finished mine myself!) so its not university standard research or anything of the kind id imagine.

what sources are you using to come to these conclusions?

^oh nah its all good, jus wondering aye..was jus think cos we do have lakes around a lot of skiflieds/skifield ares but i cant imagine them being big enough to make such a large impact upon snowfall.

i would think that would be the case near the great lakes in us/canada, but not here..i could be wrong tho.im studying this sorta stuff so pretty interested in it.

Heres some crazy theroy thing i came up with today, probably been thought about before but here it goes. In Inconvinient truth al gore talks about how when all the ice in canada melted it created a new ice age in europe because of cold water flowing into the stream etc. So if antarica and the north pole and greenland melted would it create a new ice age somewhere else? Ok totally irrelivant to this thread but your all science types so maybe you could think about it and give me awnsers

ice melts - methane released - massive atmospheric heating ballences out the effect. Nice theory though :) it's gonna get very hot in Dubai!

Dubai will get hot, altough we had the coldest winter ever here this winter now we have the hottest summer, its strange.

England has been having some really wet summers as of recent... last year it was flooding all over the UK, and it looks pretty wet this year too.

Off topic, but am I correct in thinking that most people do 3 or 4 subjects for A-Level? That would equate to... what, 2 or 3 classes a day right? If they offered A-level in North America, we'd be able to ski soooo much more. Class 1,2,3, lunch, SKI!! everyday

(a-level = grade 11/12 high school)

copy that, I've just finished my A-levels, biggest bitch... although I had to do allot of work outside of class, but nothing that couldn't be done on the side of a mountain...
