ps: skiing isn't going to the pits. skiing is still just about fun and games. It's just there's something weird about the direction of "popular" skiing, I think.

Ah cmon skiers can't do shit like Think Thank can on flats, and 1footed stuff? I couldn't see that going very far in skiing. I think skiing is gonna split, kinda like snowboarding. 1 branch the stylistic skiers anywhere from pollard to heed, and the other technical skiers. Those technical skiers is what the media will cover though, because that's the vast majority of pro's.

Thats probably the last thing he wants; although I'm not sure he himself knows what he wants...

and skiing shouldn't go back to the basics and won't. Its freeskiing, your free to ski how you want. But skiing needs media exposure to stay alive, and going back to the basics won't get the media's attention. PS: I'd be sick if colby got that emmy
 
The other side of skiing? What other side? Skiing is fine the way it is, and if you don't think the steeze is not there then maybe you should quit skiing for a while then go back to it.
 
what we really dont need is another park skier, sure not everybody can access cliffs, pow, etc, but i wanna see more kids skiing everything. thats what i'm trying to do atleast...

Mikkee I totally agree with the shit u've been posting in the threads lately... but we need to look at what happened to inline skating and i think the skiing could be not to far from inlines fate. when rollerblading got removed from x-games it was at its height tripple flips and many doubles had just been introduced along with big spins and many other arial style triicks, and then it was gone pretty much off the face of the earth, don't get me wrong inline is still a very core sport but has lost touch with the mainstream.
 
hey skiing is not going near the pits i think its getting big. people are starting to get more into it then ever. people are starting to see free skiing like never before. i showed a couple of my friend the 4bi9 videos and they really want to get into jsut because it looks so nasty i mean they would be like steve stepp or anything but still and plus newschooler can help with all the stuff they teach people.

skiing rocks and i cant wait for next season
 
the reason of this thread was what you think about bringing new things into skiing. and what you define as new. instead you went out of line and made a fool of yourself. so gtfo of this thread, you are just being a hypocrite by telling him not to hate (in other threads) by hating more. like, shit wasn't even necessary, or even close to humor, so it's just pointless.

Why do you keep complaining in threads about how skiing is not going in the right direction? Freeskiing means people ski how they want to ski, it's not like skiing is dying or anything. Saying that skiing is heading in a bad direction is very vague... If anything, skiing is getting better. If you don't like how some people ski in some sort of way then go out there yourself and do something to "improve" it or make it original in your own way. Talking about this isn't gonna change how anyone skis.

I thought this site was for talking about skiing? If we all love skiing so much, I think it makes sense to talk about how it can progress?
 
yeah...

I guess maybe there will just always have to be those people doing the "crowd pleasing stuff" to keep the sport bringing in the cash or whatever...

but I wish more people would be in on the more "core" "sick" "artistic" "progressive" stuff. I wish there was more appreciation, more focus, more attention and more stoke on this kind of thing.
 
I think JOSS is a sick idea, and depending on what the riders were throwing down it seems just totally raaaad.

But like.. I feel like a lot of the riders at JOSS were not the kind I would pick...

Id rather see like Mickael, Pep, Tanner, Wallisch, Mahre etc. all get together and shoot at something like JOSS, maybe with more variety, not just jumps... and like see all the sick original steezy shit they throw down... ye kno? Rather than seeing a bunch of double flips and just like stock tricks that are huge and solid with crazy neon suits and robot helmets... which I am assuming is what went down at JOSS. I could be wrong.
 
AHAHAHAHAH this is such a joke. You can never go back to what skiing was. Waa waaa waa, yeah i wish it would go back, and all the noobs and all the mainstream bullshit didn't exist but you know what that is apart of skiing just like snowboarding. If you want to do something, make your own film company and only film riders who will do maximum of 540's switch and regular. But you know what that will never work because people will say " i can do that" because they can. Just ski, have fun and shut the hell up.
 
i think i am seeing eye to eye with you on something here... if you have been wanting skiing to get back to the days of Mickael why didnt you just say so? Mickael was the SHIT, still one of my favorite riders. The guy made everything look effortless. Its unforunate he had to disappear and start rapping. The way I see tho, it is that wallisch and brogan are the moden day mickaels.

I bet if mickael had started skiing now, when he saw all this stuff was possible, he would be doing multiple switchups and shit too, he would just make them look so dope. thats my theory on why all these young kids are so damn good these days. they started watching skiing when all they saw in the movies was ppl 270'ing onto rails and they think that is the norm. whereas I know when i started it was impressive as fuck to see someone go switch onto a rail.

He's (the thread creator is) a genius! or he unwittingly answered his own question...skiing is going to the GRAVEL PITS best place for early/late season jibbing and jump building, and everything in between!
 
i guess ill be the first to say it. I know im going to get hated on hard for saying this but... Marhe fucking sucks. other than is switch in pow abilities, i think he is a shit skier, with very limited sw abilities.

Pep used to be the man. Back in the day of 1242 he was my favourite. To me he has fallen off the horse a little bit. Still super sick though. Tons of skill from pep

Tanner kills it harder than anyone but i cant remember the last time he hit a park jump ( the only thing twall really does, along with his rail slayage)

I never thought Mik D was that great although that switch 10 he did is still one of the best to date.

Wallisch is a park rat. A fucking good one too. Saying that he has nothing in common with any of those riders other than Mik. Mik used to be at the same level but i cant say that for him now. That is why i think T-Wall has nothing in common with the others mentioned.
 
i love skiing more then anything ever...

And truthfully, skiing will be there for me no matter what direction its heading, so stop worrying about where skiing is going, and just fucken ski.
