I discovered a new country today

After reading the thread about US government cutting defense spending, I saw a country called Eritrea in the article. After looking it up, I realized it's on the horn of Africa. I love finding new stuff like this. Am I an ignorant American for never hearing of this country or have any of you heard of it?

yeah i do too. it makes me realize how amazing this world is. ive been living this ignorant american life for 21 years and theres people in some country i never knew existed who are just the same people as me but in a different place. i could have been born there. i like to think about that sometimes and realize how fortunate i was to be born in such a progressed country.
