I dare you to...

Hahaha sick idea i would totally do it but we dont have any stop bars and im not patient enough to go around again so it's probably a good idea i can't

my threads and karma to the pink name who said distract the liftie! just go up their hut and ask them a couple of questions or something! cant wait for the video!

haha i am excited to see this....to bad all the lifts at my mountain have the bar that stops it once something hits it. and my pass would be pulled. props/ +k for people who do it and post it.

oh and my threads

ur skis or the bar would hit the stop bar or string at the top and the liftie would stop it anyways, and how would u get off at the bottom?? at my mountain there id just wood and no where to ride off to because the liftline ropes sorround it an theres a nother stop bar at the bottom

Ha, the great part is that you don't get off at the bottom. At least we didn't.
Anyway, just some pointers for those attempting it. Be very detailed and planned out. Just getting on a lift once with some old folks and pretending to fall asleep won't cut it. As someone mentioned, some of your crew has to do something to completely distract the liftie. Secondly, I would attempt some ridiculous lie on some tourist types on the very early part of the ride up. For example "yeah, did you hear they have bars at the top that stop the lift if you don't get off? Great idea, but I was just reading a story about a resort in Sweden where someone tripped the mechanism and their ski got caught funny and they fell to the side of the net and got really hurt. The best thing to do it try to lift your skis over it and just go around one more time"
That is a pretty lame example, but my point is that you will have to be creative. However, I will fully award money to anyone who get someone to fall into the net, too :)
Lastly, I think lots of people should try this and have a video thread Sunday to see any attempts. I think the best part about it will be the reaction of people on their ski vacations who are not happy to keep going around. :)

you just have to pick your feet up so your skis dont hit the bar. my friend has done it a few different times and when he got to the bottom he just said he got scared. nobody cared

Gahhhhhh I'm so excited for this thread.

Stupid Ohio doesn't have any safety bars at any of it's resorts, otherwise I'd totally be all over this because I know the GM of my local hill, so chances of getting my pass clipped are pretty much zero.

and were up to $35 and the sticker packs! i just hope nobody does it until i can get on my hill, which wont be til next weekend...

the bar was not down, but as my friend and i were filming a shot for an edit of getting off the chair the guy in front of us stayed on the chair and it went all the way around before he bailed onto the uphill slope on the other side of the circle. got it all on film, but at my mountain there is a bar that easily knocks over but it stops the chair as you go around so your challenge is impossible.

Threads. The lift at our mountain is weird though and is like a double-two-person lift. One bar in the middle that attaches to the cable and two people sit on each side. So there's two safety bars. Fall asleep on both?
