put the bar down, and keep it down. WIth total strangers. And go around back to the bottom.
I was just reminiscing about playing my friends in a game of chicken with the bar in high school and the time we went all the around back to the bottom. We got some awesome looks. So my current challenge then is to complete this feat, and of course get it on video for everyone to enjoy. I understand this will be pretty difficult since almost every lift now is a slow-exit detachable lift, but there have to be some classic full speed lifts around. So my challenge is to put the bar down and get back to the bottom while getting it on film. Just to make it more interesting, $20 in your PayPal from me for a posted video. Anyone else want to ante-up to make it worth someone's time? I must clarify that I don't encourage being a jerk about it, but it is harmless fun if done correctly.
 
Hahahaha I want to see this for sure. I'm poor as shit, but +K to anyone who at least tries haha.
 
can there be some kind of bonus / extra credit for ejecting said stranger's skis off while on the lift?

nah, see I don't want to ruin anyone's day. Skiing halfway down the mountain with one ski would suck, especially if it was just a tourist type person who wasn't a great skier. To me that just sounds harsh. But, going around the lift an extra time would never hurt anyone.
 
With strangers? Sounds tough. It would be hard because the lifty would probably be quick to stop the lift when you didn't get off.
 
Some douche 6 year olds did this to me and my friend once. I'm pretty sure they didn't want to keep skiing with their instructor, so they held the bar down and kept us hostage. It was kind of funny though
 
debating whether it is worth getting permanently kicked out of a mountain. Wonder if I pretended to be asleep if i could get away with it.
 
at my mountain we have 2nd and 3rd generation liftys, they're getting better and better. nobody fucks with them

it would have to be done on a lift that doesnt have a person at the top or a safety like "trip" bar at the part where it turns.
 
haha, thats an awesome challenge, especially if you have a super long/slow lift. p.s. is your icon your daughter/ are things looking up?
 
There were 2 of them, and they were just hanging on it. They were probably 80 to 100 pounds each, this was when me an my friend were around 12 y/o. And the bar was up for the whole ride up, then they pulled it down a couple seconds before.
 
threads. i dont know if it would be funnier to have a POV vid of it or have a friend on the mountain filming your ride all the way back down.

HAHAHA one of the best ideas i've seen on this site in a while
I would love to do it at my resort but i work there and there some of the biggest pricks when it comes to that kinda stuff. Definately gonna be epic when a video drops (which it will).
A little piece of advive i'll give that might make it work, put the par down and rest on it. Pretend to fall asleep while leaning on the bar making it imposible for anyone else to lift it up. As soon as you go around wake up and act all confused, start appologizing etc just sell the lie.
