I can’t wait to film

I can’t wait to not only ski, but film. If anything, my dreams at night have been occupied by filming just as much as skiing. Like I’ll literally have dreams where I’m doing fisheye follows and whoever is skiing is tossing the most saucy shit and I’m like “damn I can’t wait to look at that one on my laptop tonight” then I wake up super disappointed but happy at the same time.

it’s gotten to the point where when I watch edits now I can’t help but gawk at the filming technique, camera quality, fisheye setup, angles, etc etc. I’ll have to replay clips because the first time around I was paying attention too much to the filming

picked up a legit cam recently and I’m so hyped to use it some more and branch into a different side of skiing. Get hyped boys season will be here soon.

I've been having similar thoughts. I really want to try making a ski movie this year, or like a long edit. I've been thinking about what tricks I would want to do and how I would film it, if I had a clone, and other people I could film and tricks they'd do.

I am almost the same exact way. Most times I watch edits, I’m breaking down the video. Trying to pick up new techniques. I’m super stoked. I’m recovering from an injury so I’ve got a little bit longer to go. But the dream is alive.
 
I just quit my instructing job and got a different pass so I can ski more with the homies. Haven’t filmed in ages but started dusting off my filming skills this past spring. I’m so fucking hyped to stack more content with the boys this winter.
 
Fuck dude same. I’ve been itching to film. all my homies who skate are being bums now that it’s cooler weather and highschool soccer szn. And skiing is still about a month away. Plus I copped a 52mm opteka for the baby HMC and Imma get a light next. Also gonna buy a manual zoom lense for my FM2 so I can have a some black and white 800spd film from this szn and maybe some colored. Love the way black and white film and photos of skiing go together. Plus I’m tryna stack enough clips this winter to make a kinda part length video of all the kids in the park at HV. Like a Godspeed type of video cause we’re not nearly cool enough for zootspace. As my final project for my film production class. Stoke to help Moose and chip out also. If u manage to find a way to HV or the Mont this szn let’s link!

I will. 52mm should be getting here by the end of the week! Along with a light. Gonna hopefully get one or two homies out to film then.
 
I just spent like 2 hours looking at raw footy, old edits, and unfinished projects from the last few years. Got me a lil down lookin back at good times with friends I haven’t seen in awhile. There’s definitely something special about those good film sesh days where everyone’s happy and throwing down. Anyway I’m gonna try and lowball my sisters bf on his old sony a6300 bc he’s a wedding videographer and see where that takes me. Hopefully I can find a new crew to film with.
 
century xtreme looks like ass with skiing can’t tell you why it just does. idk why anyone would want to even own one of those they’re worth more than my car.
 
Clips are like crack for me at this point- I’m just always chasing that high of getting a good shot. My friend used to say “ if you aren’t stacking clips then wtf are you doing?”

I like them a lot but I agree with you especially on the price, like a 160 dollar opteka on an hmm looks just as good. Plus I'm not the biggest fan of the one sided vignette on the XTreme lens. Ive seen instances where it's evened out to all 4 corners but who knows that could be just a 72mm mk1 cropped to look like it was filmed on an XTreme
 
Whipped out the rig for the first few go arounds this year. Felt good. I always forget how much fun it is reviewing clips later during the sorting and backup process. I get hyped all over again
 
I'm fucking skiing not stacking clips.
