I cant choose where to apply

where shoudl i apply to go to college i want to either go to the university of utah or ubc or i might go to sierra college wat are some pros and cons of utah and vancouver which has cooler stuff
 
base your school around its reputation, availability to you and relevence of your program. i mean the social aspect is important but not as much as the actual school. and vancouver FTW!
 
well it kinda depends what you want to major in, unless your planning on skiing for a career. i for one am thinking about university of oregon (close to hood)
 
yea and utah has that olympic park which is sick for water ramps but vancouver probaly has some too and canada is amazing
 
vancouver is like 2 hours from whistler right and i think uthah is super close and so is sierra college and how far is the u of organ from hood
 
true, except that reputation should be taken with a grain of salt. you hear a lot about schools, and a lot isnt true...see for yourself and don't just go to a school because of its name. Visit and ask yourself if you think you could see yourself going there
 
i was looking at cerro coso in mammoth lakes does anybody know if it is a good community college + its like 20 min from mammoth
 
u of u is pretty sick seeing park city is only like 20 minutes away and there really isnt a bunch of mormons watching the streets or anything.
 
Vancouvers a sweet city.

THere are other universities in the area too. SFU, Capilano BCIT etc. What do you wanna take, because in Van each one specializes. And there are three different Mountains to ski at inVan, plus your like 2 hours from whistler, about an hour from baker and like 3 or something from hood i think? plus there are trips heading out always to mt washington, and if you can get to it go to mount cane, because it is vancouver Islands sweet spot.

but yeha i dontknow much about the others but thats my 2cents on van.
 
yea there was a photography one called focial point i think or something like that have u heard anything about that
 
u might as well apply to all the schools and take your pic once you get into them...If u only apply to one of them and then dont get in your SOL buddy...so might aswell go for em all...thats what im doin...I'm applying to atleast University of Utah, SLU, UVM, Colorado State, Montana State...no need to be picky
 
yea i am applying to all of them but the main point of the thread is to see which university has the coolest town and closest to the moutains
 
Well you should apply to every school you're considering AND apply to a couple backup schools.

When you narrow it down find some upperclassmen from that university to talk to. Facebook is a good place to do that. Find some skiers or something and just send out messages asking about classes, social life, local hills, alumni programs.
 
apply to both, then go visit both campuses. Once you see them in person, and talk to an adviser, it will be much easier to tell which one is for you.
utah is sick, 30 min from the mountains. But I don't know much about vancouver.
Dont forget about colorado tho! thats where i'm headed this fall :)
 
in utah, they don't allow music and the beer sucks, in addition to having to deal with mormons.

in Vancouver, its a city, its canada.

is utah REALLY as bad as people on here say it is? i mean seriously, it can't be. i am planning (though i've still got a while to think on it) on going to U of U for the skiing aspect mainly. plus it's not a bad school i hear. but i mean is it really that bad of a state?
 
Its not, at all. Some people are just shit heads and tell people things that they have no idea about.
