I built this...

So over the break I finally built my dream of a pvc rail. A rainbow box. So I took the design from my head and brought it to life. I then transported to the island, tried to jib it, and on the 5th try the pipe all the way on the edge snapped, and actually got caught inbetween my ski and my boot.

The pvc pipes are 3/4 inches thick and attched to the end of the board by screws.

As you can se the pipe protudes under my left ski...

im a fail at posting good pics, and building pvc jibs.

i hate to double post, but I feel that I spent a good amount of effort into this rainbow rail.

i concur. i'm beginning to feel threatened

be thankful that you have snow to session it...

i built this almost two months ago, and have only sessioned it once, with wet carpet.

my brother is in the picture....

yeah just a little, ya know me an muh funbus, and me homies go on drivebys all the time. wtf was that. im jk. yeah thanks for all the props people. it is only 9.5 feet long, and tough to jib, thats why its broken, but I plan on fixing it, and trying it again sometimes.

i hope your kidding or the camera angle distorted it a bit, because those k2 silencers are 170cm, and I am about 5'10'', so im only a few inches taller, plus theyre wicked heavy compared to most park skis, but way better in the powder.

that is dope...are those lights in it!?!?!?!

If we had snow where i live (QLD, Australia), i'd have a ball, the road to my house is like a 100m - 250m slope so as steep as a normal park/ blue ski run, and i've got 1 1/2 or 2 acres to run around on.....so wish it snowed where i live...when's the next ice age!?

5'10 and u ride 170? maybe im worng but im 5'11 and im ridin 180's...idk... oh wellz

sick rainbow btw... make it a wee bit longer

yeah it did break, but I plan on repairing it. and to those who said that silencers are bad in powder, you are wrong.

Im pretty sure the reason why it broke is because there's nothing between the supports under the pvc to support it. you know what I mean? if you got like thin mdf board that can bend easily and put a few layers with glue in between then put the pvc pipe on top it would be supported a lot better.

uh, I supported the frames with wood in between each bridge. I tried to use construction adhesive to attach the pvc to the frame, but the pipes were just a tad off, and they didnt quite work. The real reason it broke was because the force at which I hop onto the riail is too horizontal for a rainbow. a good rainbow setup youactually come from under the horizontal plane that the rail is on. I'll post a vid if you want to show you what I talking about, but its not that great.

lol

they mean that compared to an actual powder ski, silencers are fail

and your skis are definitely too short, im 5 foot 11 and ski 178s

uh i actually wasnt, i feel they do fine in powder, then again I've only skiied them in real powder out west, ah whatever. i didnt create this thread to talk about how short my skis are(which they are not, they are just fine), or whether theyre good in powder, but i do appreciate the props from everyone.

word dude.pvc stuff looks so sick, i gotta build some.

im 5'3'' and i use 158's. i pretty much ride strictly park too.

haha you got killed on those first two hits,

would work better if you had more speed prob.

the sound effects from the filmer are great.

I wish I could sesh something like that the smallest rainbow box my hill has is like at least 10 feet off the ground so I probably won't step up to it until late season.
