I emailed the terrain park coordinator at my home mountain of Snoqualmie the other day, and I promplty was replied to by a phone call from him. He was really interested in a lot of the jib features that i have plans for, and wanted to see them. My home park will be so cool this year if i get my way!

Our park sucks its just a table.

But at another place that is close they have a pipe and all but it gets torn up by all the sucky skiers and snowboarders

Hey hotcarl.....if you need any help me and schwags are down!! we ski at alpental and have been complaining about the park at snoqualmie for years! let me know whats going on, and maybe we can help out!

That would be nice if it gets improved. I saw the one at Summit Central during spring, and it sure needed improvement. Are the terrain parks at the other summits any bigger?

uhhhhh central had the better park.. although its hard to say the one at west sucked too! Central had bigger tables but the landings sucked! And they only had one rail. Hopefully we can get some improvments this year

I told the guy to make the umps higher because higher jumps means longer landings, and i told him i have plans for like 20 jib features. he sounded stoked about that, and wanted me to mail him my plans. Maybe i'll get a season pass out of the deal....

That's cool man, i tried to work with the suits at my resort last year and they were like yea we'll do this and that, but they never did. When the time came for them to show their cards, they always had an excuse. Make sure they know the benefits, and this may sound dumb, but offer to have them a ski partol person to watch over the park at all times. That is what my resort was worried about, getting hurt.

Peace, and good luck

umm, no. I am the luckiest man alive. For those of you that dont remember why i am, message me about it.

I am pretty lucky because I just bought my season pass for mt.hood meadows which has several great parks and pipes.

I'm luckier than all you guys, I went skiing yesterday and ya'll sat around at home watching your ski videos and bitchin' about how hot it is! haha, just kiddin', that's sweet bro, build some sick shit this year

hey HotCarl, what mountian is this? and also, Appskier, were you the one that won all that money somehow?

Central(Ski Acres) didn't have a rail they had a box, and a really shitty park so I hope they're going to make it better this year. I talked to a guy who worked for them that said they're gonna put a pipe at central this year. They were supposed to last year but never got enough snow or something. BigAirandBumps.com (the team/group or whatever I ski with) owns a jump hill with four big kickers off to the left of triple sixty chair if you're looking up at it. We had a really steep landing so it was always safe if you crashed. A ton of fun too, you guys should join. And where are all of you coming from???? I was up there like 4 or 5 times a week and didn't really see that many freeriders. hmmmm.

I was there 3-4 times a week! But mostly at alpental building booters too! Central did have a rail....right before the shitty QP towards the end of the season. And that whole bigairandbumps thing was ok. The only thing was they wont allow inverts, and I didnt have a helmet so I could only jump before the actual comp. I used to ski with a couple guys who did those comps

no, I skied on enemy's last year.....schwags rides the candide's though! wait can i just confirm that you are a girl...and you actually freeski and not race...AND you live in washington?

yes I'm a girl (it's okay, 'charley' throws everyone off), and I ski moguls and this (last) year got into freeride. We didn't have a ton of skiers competing though at the hill, just JD and I remember some guy riding candides that was going pretty big. (you?) Maybe you remember me (the crew might have still been calling me Maria then) I was probably helping dave (head guy) with the score sheets stapling or with the mic (with loud-ass steve) or up top telling people when they could go (with big adam).... I had many jobs. brown hair. probably blue pants. blue goggles. ???

So I got yet another call fromthe guy, and he really wants to see my plans. I'm almost done drawing all og the jib features, and so far I have:

-Single kink rail

-Double kink rail

-beginner flatbar

-picnic table jib

-picnic table tabletop

-qp to wallride/railstall

-grinbox gap

-curve rail

-double curve rail

-trapezoid rail

-rainbow rail

-halfpipe slider

-other beginner rails.

If he even puts in a quarter of the jibs I'm suggesting the park will be rad. Does anyone have any other suggestions for plans I should send him?

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh if he put any of those things in it would rule. Our park sucked last year, we need more tables of all sizes..maybe like 3 small tables 2 or 3 medium sized and one that is like 50-60 feet. Are any of these plans on paper yet? you should scan them so we can help go over them. You should also tell this guy about this site. Then maybe he will see how many people are interested

put it on a longer run... it was way to short last year and you could really only hit 3 hits at a time.

I gave im jump advice, but he just wants to see the jib feature plans. I'm stoked because a lot of my plans (2/3)are already drawn, and some of them are of my own inverntion or a creative motification of an existing one. I told the guy to put all of his jumps in one park, with a 45 degree staring ramp 30 feet tall, with several possible runs through the whole thing. And then to put the rails and pipe in another park. This would make fear of collisions less, and more efficiently use space.

they should put the pipe right beside the park so it can be longer

and they need to actually use the dragon this year..... they groomed the park twice last year I think

They just groomed our pipe and it sux arse biscuits.

yo Carl, Is this going to be one big park or split up between central and west? And what run will it be on?

I don't know anything about where it's going to be yet... I have to talk to the guy. Right now, I'm only responsible for supplying plans for jib features.

Haha isn't it nice having management that is interested in your ideas?

I have no interest in park skiing personally, but I can TOTALLY identify with your stoke as I organize volunteer groups and work with ski area management to keep all the treeskiing clean and ready to ski at our hill year round (Magic Mountain in VT). I have to say, it is so awesome when I sit down with the owner and mt manager and they value what I have to say and are behind me 100% because they know I just want to make things better.

Even if they only use a small portion of your ideas, there is almost no joy greater than physically enjoying something that started in your mind and became a reality through hard work and team efforts.

So yeah, congrats man! Good on you for making the step towards making dreams and ambitions into realities. It is as addictive as it is fun!

why does everyone get mad about old bumps? I always read through these... it's interesting to see how the discussion has changed/not changed. Also I wonder if that dude's mountain listened to him.
