Last sunday i was at my aunt and uncles house for a nice dinner party and we some how started talking about snow sports. There was an assload of people there like the rest of my goddamn family and there bitch ass friends and every single one of them snowboard except my brother and dad. Im talking like 40 kids. And one kid like 12 years old goes 'hey, what board do you ride?', and im like 'nah man i ski'. 'wait, you seriously ski?',

'nah im like serious', 'ya i ski'. 'hahahahha what a fagget, get a snowboard you pussy', 'wait do you wear an orange hunting jacket and tight racer pants', 'no im a freerider you no good piece of shit cock sucking hermaferdie snowboarder ass hole, fuck you'. First off: I hope you said what you said you said (i.e. all the cursing). Anyone who called me a faggot around my family would be served up a cold ski boot directly up their ass.

Second: Chill the fuck out. Let the snowboarders talk shit. They're scared shitless because their sport is being overrun by every fratboy tool out there. Every lame Texan who thinks their 'hip' straps on a snowboard. The good snowboarders, well, they're good. And that's definitely cool.

Skiers and snowboarders should just get over it. The point is to be out on the mountain, local hill, rail, or whatever. The point is to feel that feeling of gliding across the snow.

It doesn't matter how you do it. It DOES matter how you interact with other people. All of us should do each other a favor and squash the beef.

snowboarders are doing the same tricks they were doing 3-4 years ago....skiers are always coming up with new rotations, steeze and shit, we will always progress more than they do, and that makes us better than them, whether they want to admit it or not...

im the only skier in my grade and altogether theres probably 4-5 freeskiers at my high school. i get shit about it all the time but i dont mind cuz i like how skiing isnt the 'cool' thing to do. everyone at my school snowboards and thinks there hot shit when like 2 of em can even ride anything other than the bunny hill, so i just shut em up out on the hill. its actually really fun

yeah it kinda suck that when you say you ski ppl think ur a racer like when ever i tell someone they always ask if i am on the ski team it kinda suck what some ppl think about skiers but the best thing ever is when u get a snowboarder that talks alot of shit and you just show him up

I don't know if skiers are coming up with new rotations like somebody said above. We're starting to reach the end of the new trick phase of our sport as you can see its now becoming more about style. At any rate it sounds like you had a fucked up family dinner and just let the 12 year olds run their mouth. You're not going to change what they think so fuck em.

Yesterday about 30 of my friends from school were going to our local hill. I couldn't go because I don't get my setup till christmas, but out of those 30 kids there was one kid that was skiing. Everyone was giving him shit until he called them all sell outs for switching to snowboarding (because lets face it if you ask snowboards how many have skied, its just about all of them, they all go with snowboarding just beacuse its cooler). After that they realized that it doesn't really matter if he skis, the kid still gets more pussy then them. Lesson: it doesn't fucking matter. I still wish i coulda gone though just to show up the kids that think skiing is gay, throw in some floaty mute 3's, some nice slides, tricks look better on skis.

yea i hate this shit...im the only freeskier in my school...everyone else snowboards or dont care for skiing that much...all the boarders think theyr so tough and godlike..when i can do just as much as them and look beter when i do it

 
at my mountain.... we all get a long. instead of hating on eachother... we all focus our hate on the owner who fucking sucks at running everything. my school doesnt have a ton of freeskiers though. me and my friends and a group in the grade above us (friday01 is one of them). we all get a long for the most part though. usually if a kid talks shit on skiing though... karma will get him. for instance.. last year some snowboarders were telling me im gay for skiing. the kid is like 16 and literally no more than 5' tall. this year he works in the cafeteria and i make him get me shit. hes my bitch now. so you see... dont let it get to you because in the end... it doesnt matter.

yeah when i was in high school i used to get crap from people about being a skier. then the ski/snowboard club that i headed up started making promo videos featuring me and my friends dropping cliffs at stowe and generally ripping and the problem went away.

All you people posting things like..'that makes us better than them, whether they want to admit it or not...', etc. If that's how you look at snowboarders, then I'd say they have every right to look at you the same way.

All of the top pro skiers and pro snowboarders have sooo much respect for each other. Lots of pro skiers have a copy of 'Lame' (and many other SNOWBOARD movies), and pro snowboarders have been watching and buying ski vids since '13' came out, they're totally stoked on it. Good skiers and snowboarders have been sessioning together and partying together and occasionally switching equipment for years. You should see how good Candide is on a snowboard, or watch Terje on skis.

Only seriously insecure people would feel the need to put down another sport that is so sick in its own way. That applies to both sides of this conflict.
