So like many on ns i love skiing lol
But this winter i was jobless as skiing was number one priority, leaving me with little cash
Lately i have seen many complaints about how the minimum age for digging at summer ski camps is usually 19, but i have been thinking and there must be other ways to get out this summer, without dropping major dime.
So im trying to get suggestions, of camps that have discounted programs or ways to work to ride, without having to be 19! I will be 18 this july
I have also heard things about being camper staff at hood?
so please help me out, as well as others, im sure many are in the same position!
Let me know if you have info
thanks

if you apply for a job at camp they might accept you. If not grab a tent, live in the Govy forest with all the other summer ski bums and hike up the glacier every day. its like an hour hike to get to the top of the park but well worth it

this if you dont got the cash you can always just hike up to palmer where they do not check tickets atleast when i was there at windells they didnt and hike public or go in to windells "private" park but you just have to fill out a waiver form if you want to ski windells park and you are not in the camp

i highly suggest you do not hike the public park.

depending on who catches you and the kind of mood they happen to be in that day, you can get seriously fucked.

and in their defense if you get hurt on their features without a pass they can get fucked as well.

I think you're too late to get hired, they usually staff up in the early spring.

Unless you have like 500 bucks, you're not going to get much skiing in.

well i have a more than 500 bucks :P

but the cheapest ski camps ive heard of cost over 1000 before a flight!

im interested if 500 dollars can get me something!

FYI hoods public park was super ill during session 1 windells last year, so if your gonna ski it, the earlier the better

7 jump line

20+rails

Pipe

ill

camper staff at MHSSC? i'm way too young but i heard that it only costs like quarter of the $1000 it usually costs you.

I don't think that is really an option. Most spots are filled now, and 4 weeks of it would cost around 2,700ish and I think it would be like 1,400ish for two weeks. Plus 19 is too old I think.

come to the beartooth pass up in montana. there are two poma lifts and a park. season passes are 185 fut you need to get them by the 15th of this month and tickets are 25 for a half day which is perfect because it doesnt really get soft till like 11 and you get plenty of skiing in. there are awesome camp sites so you wont have to spend anything on lodging and there is a bunch of bc if you dont want to buy a ticket for a day or two and would rather hike. i bet with 500 buck you could stay for two weeks and ski everyday easy.

if you scrole down there are afew edits and some pics.

Im in the same spot you are. I have just enough money this summer to road trip down to hood and hit up the public park for about 3-4 days.

Shay hit it on the nose. If youre looking for a cheap skiing this summer, beartooth is the shit. Free camping (really sweet spots too), fun park, and no one is ever there. No hiking required.

Don't even bother trying to hike up in the summer.

I spent all winter as a liftie at t-line listening to stories from loss preventation about catching poachers and I know that Lauren is going all out this summer as well and trust me, he will catch you and probably try to send you to jail if you show him any disrespect.

Montanna sounds like your best option for your age timing and money situation

Drive to hood, get a job in govvy, live out of your car, bathe in a river, and make enough money to ski and eat 3 cobra dogs a day.

Come out to the first annual Beartooth Summer Session!

June 25 and 26 on Beartooth Pass
