I almost just lost my life.

So today i went out with my friend in his new car (turned 16 three days ago) and he just got his liscence... we were driving on the highway just bumpin to music and talking and then some fucking idiot asshole just starts to change lanes right into us.. he wasn't even looking, just talking to his damn wife.. Well avoiding a car going 65 is always a tough task but next thing i knew, i was watching a concrete wall come at us at 60-70 mph.. good fuckin luck for me, my friends actually a good driver and then swerves away from that wall.. we avoided possible death by about 1 1/2 feet..

when the guy pulled over to make sure we were ok we just stared him down ( he knew it was his fault ) but i'm sure he wasn't expecting a couple of teenagers to drive by..

so for the past hour i've just been a little... shaky.

thought i'd share

there was much horn after it happened.. but he was less than a foot away from us and still turning.. we were in the blind spot i think... oh, and the look on his face when we drove by and he realized "i almost just killed 3 16 year olds."

i would have rather been hit than swerve. At least if he hits you its probably only going to be minor damage and he pays instead of risking your life.

thank you. this kids treating it like a nascar pileup.

just yesterday on my way home from school a car abruptly switched lanes (slow to fast) clipping the front end of the suv in front of me which caused the car that was changing lanes to spin and go towards the barried which it bounced off of and i safely avoided.

now, i didnt feel the need to run home and make a thread on ns about it.

you should have killed him then taken his car and put the bodies in the trunk then brought them back to your house, cut them up into pieces and put them in trashbags then dropped them into the ocean. preferable in the gulf stream somewhere.

Something similar happened to me last summer, I was also going 65 on the highway. A big SUV started changing lanes into me but I swerved onto the shoulder. Luckily, it was wet so I was able to swerve back easily, otherwise I probably would've just shot straight into the ditch. About a mile later i caught up with and passed the SUV (I never actually stopped) and it was some dumb bitch on the cell phone.

Except not. A driver with 20 years of experience is going to be a better driver than a 16 year old with 3 days of experience regardless of how much of an asshole driver they are. Why do you think that young drivers are more likely to be in an accident?

Are you guys honestly trying to one-up each other in the near-death-by-car-accident category?Really?Grow the fuck up. Almost all of us have been in scary situations like that. And I'm sorry to whoever said this, but going 125 and almost crashing will earn you no pity from me. You're going 125.
Good to hear you're alive and well. Almost accidents are scary as shit.

agree and disagree. I agree that brand new drivers are terriable regardless, i was for awhile. but i also think that some people are doomed to be terriable drivers, i know girls who drive with one foot on the brake, the other on the gas..... i also know kids who drive 30 over the limit in monitored areas. but i do also know women (non sexist comment) but i have almost been hit 3 times by older soccer moms too busy chatting on their phones, not saying i havent almost caused/been in accidents. but i have been able to avoid them. and after 18 months of driving and 10,000 miles+ i consider myself a terriable driver, but in the sense that im one of the wildest and scaries people to ride with, but i always know what im doing and i never push my car so that i loose control, all my friends would second this, but none ski, and ive been in 0 accidents, 0 tickets.

oh it totally is, with the baby boomer generation currently just reaching their retirement age, the amount of people driving over the age of 65 might double, not all are bad, but at one point, such as 85 or when they develope weaknessess, it is a good idea, but for most it provides independence and freedom, weather to bingo or the strip club, without independence and freedom the senior citizens tend to get demensia and suicidal

hmm . one time i was with my mom in the car on this busy street and we were turning into a parking lot for a store

and this huge truck stopped in the lane closest and the dude was like ok you can turn nobodys coming

but as soon as we turned we were like 4 seconds away from getting SMASHED by this car in the lane beside the truck speeding dowwwwn the street

scary as fuck i would have been obliterated

but

dear u stupid ass truck driver

FUCK U

sincerely

1) They weren't going to hit it at a 90 degree angle, that would be basically impossible. They would have skimmed it, drove up it, and probably rolled multiple times, but tons of people survive accidents like that everyday. My girlfriend did. ....So did my last girlfriend before that. ....Yeah I like those sort of girls, whatever.

2) I know someone that had a head on collision at 100mph without a seatbelt on and walked away from it, so there you go.

It certainly wouldn't have been pretty though.

you would really be surprised, im a firefighter and ive seen horrible shit happen to people going slower than this. 65 to 0 in less than a second will fuck you up bigtime

Oh yeah I'm not saying it couldn't easily kill you, I'm just saying chances are you'd live. And yeah its not 65-0 because they aren't hitting the wall at a 90 degree angle going 70.

I love it when kids first get their liscence, the first issue they see is considered to be a near death experience.

A near death experience is when you almost die, not when you almost get in an accident that may or may not have resulted in death.

Spending finals week in ICU is a near death experience, waking up in a upside down minivan on christmas eve with frostbite is a near death experience.

What you experienced is a near collision.

Have you kissed a girl before or did kissing a girl flash through your mind so you won't die alone? It's normal if it did, just tell us cause it happened to all of us.

DAMN IT, I fucked up the joke. It was supposed to ask if he thought about kissing his friend. I would of tricked him into exposing his underlying homosexual tendencies and we would ridicule him for days and I would become the most popular man on NS.

I have failed, it was all for naught!

I have a similar story. Except we were going 120 mph on the freeway, lost control, slammed into 3 walls, flattened like 10 guard rail posts, and slid like 200 yards on one wheel. i shouldn't be alive...

if he was a good driver he would have tapped the brakes when the guy started coming over. yea, its his fault but that doesnt mean sit there and watch him merge into you, just move

1) muddy mx track, fot came of peg at base of jump, slid back on the seat causeing me to open the throttle all the way and "seat bounce" the take off, jump was a 65 ft'er I cleared to the flat, my body positon caused me to do a half back flip with the bike landing on top of me, I woke up in the ER, I spent 7 days in ICU with a broken pelvis, ulna-radius, elbow, a lacerated liver, and mad internal bleeding.

2) Chritmas eve 2007, had my moms minivan running errands and shit in a mad hurry going 75 then hit black ice, flipped the van upside down into the ditch, woke up hlaf slid out of the seat wedged againt the side, I have no idea how long i was like that but my fingers had mild frostbite. and i was freezing, had to climb out and walk to a phone becuase i was in bumfuck upstate NY with no service, No cars stopped to help.

A semi swerved while it was driving and almost hit me once....

It was when I was running after school down the side of the road. Being swerved at when you're in a car is scary as shit...when you're just a pedestrian though its a whole nother level haha.

Glad you're ok man, highway driving can be way riskier than people thing.

thats the reason I drive faster than traffic is traveling, yeah there's increased chance of speeding tickets but your always the one changing lanes and don't have to deal with other people's incompetence
