I don't have it, but I know people that do. The treatment is daily use of synthetic thyroid hormone for life.

I have it, I had a sist on my thyroid when I was 5 that made me stop growing. During the surgery to remove it the doc accidentally took out my whole fucking thyroid. I'm on the generic synthroid now fo life

5 is a little early, but can you feel that your less tired, stronger, etc with the medication?

i will probably get that synthetic stuff and i would just like to know if i will feel a big difference. i just hope that i am not getting sick so easily, which is why i went to the doctor in the first place.

when it first hit, it was rough for my dad. after his meds were adjusted though, it worked out so he was about normal. i'm kind of bummed that it's genetic.

When I was younger it used to affect me more and I would have my dosage changed all the time. I'm 22 now and haven't had any problems with it in years. My doc even said my thyroid has started to grow back. pm me if you have more questions
