yea cuz they are cultured and come from the area, know people that know some people that know some people. hell yea mother fuckin suburban kids get their money right out here too in northern california. and its not from "hyphy music." what's being said is if a skier from the industry came in to the bay throwin out the word hyphy, the only slang word they know outta california at a sydeshow or some shit, theyd get no love, and prolly get they motha fuckin hood stomped out. by the way, thread creator...all i can do is shake my head in disgust. 916

You're talking to somebody who's actually lived in Berkeley, California. Nobody ever ever calls it 'btown' ever. Its Berkeley, or Bezerkeley, or something like that... but never ever have i ever called it nor heard it called Btown by anyone from the bay area...

Oakland is the town.. hence oaktown..

Berkeley, is just Berkeley and really thats all there is to it. (People only really call it bezerkeley in the same context as they could call Oakland "oaksterdam")

There cannot be two 'town's next to each other... that would be like calling SF the 'city', and turning around and also calling Daly City (just south of SF) like.. 'D-City' or something. It just doesnt work.

 
like i said some are from berkeley and some are from oakland. they have their own language and i'm pretty sure they'd know more than i do.. but who fucking cares. all of the people posting in this saying "you don't know hyphy or you don't know about the bay" thats like canada getting together and saying "you don't know anything about hockey"

 
Pretty sure nobody from america takes hockey culture as seriously as the Canadians... Unless they are from North Dakota, Minnesota, or one of those other states which might as well be in Canada anyway haha.
