Hyper-Camber?

Just curious as to how well they perform outside of the park.

Prajekt skis are using this design with a section up front and back thats supposed to activate as you ride faster or in powder. I'm just wondering if this works?

Without skiing we are just monkeys with car keys.

i dont quite understand prajekts idea with the camber stuff

first up, its HYBRID camber. and to everybody who isnt really educated on ski construction and how things like this affect your skiing, ill explain this little concept.

ok, most skis are cambered from the tail to the tip. the purpose of camber is to preload the ski. if skis were flat, the would blow unless you were turning. and on park skis, it helps load pop for ollies. it keeps the tips on the snow, ect.

now, this hybrid camber is cambered from a few inches inches behind and in front of the tips. now what this does, is creates an effefctively shorter ski on hard snow, and in powder or crud, it gives you the full running length. its an intresting concept, and i would like to ski it before i post a factual opinion, but my 2 cents, before riding them, is this:

smaller skis suck everywhere. the only time they are nice is on rails, where they are more manuverable and lighter. now, this would give you the weight and dimensions of a big ski, and everything else of a smaller ski. all of the downsides, and none of the benifits. it obviously wont be a huge difference, as there will still be full effective edges ( in turns), but i think it is an attempt at a new concept to draw attention to them.

i looked on google but all i could find was 3D Animation porn-sxmarty6

Shorter skis perform better on ice because of thelower contact area, and therefore better grip. Surely thats the point

I don't understand how the guys at Prajekt can expect to make money. The market is already so saturated with companies selling twins that we don't need another tiny one. Kudos to them for roughing it and going out there with a new product idea, but I don't see them selling many skis. Armada and 4frnt are fine, because they were introduced into the market when the larger companies were completely ignoring riders. Now some companies are starting to listen and putting out sick products. Look at Volkl and K2, they both are putting out sick product lines. A small company like Prajekt isn't really necessary, it seems like they are going to have a hard time catching on.

whatev. the industry needs new companies and fresh ideas. im still undecided about the hybrid camber stuff. would you still have the stability at speed and in turns associated with longer skis
