how do you clean yours? mine still has water in it and i dont want it to get mildew in it

Well just let it dry out, or you can use vinigar, it kills bacteria, and mold and stuff.

bleach works too. i use it on my nalgene. just make sure you wash it a lot and get all the bleach taste out before you use it again

after i try to get all of the water out, i put like 3 rolled up paper towels in it so air can get in and absorb the water. Also, the company makes a thing if you want to buy it. The thing hangs and dries out the bladder.

ya, be sure to dry it out, the bladders are super expensive, like 20-60$ i think. My buddy didnt clean his out and their was all kinds of mold and shit

dont throw down bleach. bleach might work in a nalgene, but in a camelback all it will do is kill you slowly.

on a side note- i have one of those things, and not only does it rock on the hill, its great for bringing a forty of beer/whatver you want into a movie or somehwere. You walk in a fat sober guy, and walk out a thin drunk.

i put hot chocolate in mine. so good. just wash it out and blow some air in it so its not completely flat. then it wont get mold

bleach won't kill you slowly we have to put a gallon of it in our water purifier every month just to clean the water to make it taste good.

i usually clean mine after i use them, put bicarb soda and water and let it sit overnight. i left one camelbak for about 7 months without cleanin it, went to clean it n there was some black mould or somethin in it, it left black stains on the bladder too. anyone know what i should do bout that?

 
warm water, a little bit of soap and a tablespoon of bleah. make sure it gets into the tube and let it sit for a while and then wash it out real good to get the bleach taste out, then hang dry it

 
haha yeah bleach will do it, but couldnt it also eat through ur camel back if left in there too long? and yeah id soak that shit for days to remove the excess bleach

walmart has the bladders and pack for 30 bucks. bend a clothes hanger so you can hang the bladder to dry but make sure the hanger is bent so that the sides of the bladder arent touching and it can try. there ya go, life lessons from skipatroltrickster

the point with bleach killing you is that once you get it into the camelback, and into the hose, its insanely difficult to get out. theoritically you can do it, but that means you gotta really enjoy running water through a piece of plastic for an hour or two.

when you say you put a gallon of bleach in....do you mean you rinse it out afterwards, or do you just dump the bleach in there and slurp away?

 
Bleach will "flash" dry if exposed to the air. So, if you use bleach to clean something, just rinse it with water and let it hang to dry. You'll be fine.

The bummer is that a camelbak (or any other kind of bladder) has a lotl of creases, folds, nooks and crannies that will make it take longer to dry than say a Nalgene.

^ Water has shit in it. Mold and bacteria will start to form on yours soon enough if it hasn't already.
