go land a 60' gap into pow switch and tell me it's easier than a 60' table in a terrain park, asshole, these guys bring skiing into a whole different level, not to mention they have to hike the thing no lift for them, oh and try doing a 7 on skis that are 122 or 125 underfoot as well, or doing a sick flat spin like pollard or butter 360 off a cornice onto a 50 degree slope, tell me that's easy, if that's easy then you sir must be spawncerized and should be making the big bucks, but until you tell me that then go play hide and go fuck yourself
 
Yeah man, and if you havn't heard of the other skiier (chris benchetler) than you didn't pay much attention to Idea. They also had a segment that included great riders such as Sammy. Idea was so sick, and put ski movies into a whole different light. And its funny that you say that maybe they learned some better tricks. Do you really think those guys cant do more than a 7??? Its not about spinning to win.
 
no hate but honestly you cant be serious terrain parks are made to make landing tricks as easily as possible if they wanted to make it hard the jumps would be random shapes and the landings would be skinny, bumpy and not fit with the jump. thats what they do. I dont know if you ski alot of backcountry but im guessing you dont because its alot harder than in a terrain park.
 
yea completely true look at all thier old segments pollard consistenly throws down flat 9's and sick corked 3's not to mention pep. just look at his segment in 1242 possibly one of the most epic segments ever
 
Ok, I watched the 1242 and that Pep guy is pretty good but i think the music in his segment made him look better than he is. It was so serious that it made me really pay attention to his skiing. The other 2 guys that were in The Idea and the 3rd guy who is a no-namer are not good though and nothing is going to convince me otherwise. Unless you can do a 1080 or a 1260, in my opinion, you are not good. It seems like they are using "style" as an excuse because they cannot do any rotations more than a 720. Plus, when I first saw The Idea I thought that some of the guys either were using really short poles or maybe even no ski poles at all in their skiing. Now I am 100% sure that they were not using poles in some of their segments, and that is just rediculous and looks so stupid. That is another excuse they can use for why they cannot do any spins more than a 720 instead of trying to become better skiers.
 
dude..... just because they dont constantly huck 1260s dosnt mean they cant do it, a lot of people like to see style and and "art" in their skiing i would rather watch that group of guys ski more than most others anyday, no poles? who cares? just ski and do your own thing
 
"art"?

you either can do a trick or not do a trick. if someone does a 360 then that is the same as anyone else doing a 360. i mean, some people make theirs look differently, but it should be looked at the same. if you land it with a 4 point stance, arms at the side, and firm balance then that is a good trick. what you do in the air to create "art" should not be a part of skiing. that is why judging is so messed up. if 2 guys do a 720 and both land, they should get the same points, regardless if they touch their skis with their hands in the air. that is why mogul skiing judging is always going to be the perfect setup for points. there is no arguing because either you fall or you land the trick.

 
^^ if that is the case how are skiers going to distinguish them selves between everyone and their brother that can do a 720, theres gotta be variety and different styles in my opinion
 
your opinion is your opinion but i am going to have to disagree, tell me of anybody else who stomp shit in pow as hard as they can, switch, or regular. And that was the point of the movie. to show you something differnt, to show you that you dont have to do a big spin for it to look good.
 
when pollard used to ski mainly park he used to throw bio and flat 9's and still does when he hits up the park and watch andy mahre in hit list. hes a sick skier. and by the third random guy you probably mean chris bentcheler. watch the his segment (the final one) in yeah dude or his segment in hit list. im not even going to start the no poles argument because its impossible. I ski with poles but if people dont want to i'm not going to hate on them. Its a new style of movie and if you like spin to win than dont watch it but there are people who would rather watch stylish tricks than someone huck thier meet of a park booter
