Hunting yeti- common ns-er review thread

damn its quite good i must say. i dont want to ruin the movie for

ya'll (especially the duration of the film, wtf!) but it's styled a bit

differently than the webisodes, namely lack of reflexivity (no shots of

how the film is actually made i.e. no pollard yapping to the camera)

and the actual footage is 95% not from the webisodes either. and who would've guessed, but ski movies can be political (?). i fell in love with it about 3 minutes in but its hard to get attached in such to

short term relationship (seriously eric, with the duration, wtf) and the price, woof! i still haven't seen idea, so i can't compare, but lots of no poles shots, butters, lincolns, tweaked safety grabs, decent soundtrack (throwbacks to the 70s)- and style just dominates the movie. its kinda like if you and your buddies clipped passes, went out to ur local mountain, dicked around for 5 hours, took footage, and were really, really fucking ill. who doesn't like dicking around? who doesnt like being really good? seriously check it out though, and remember- tricks are for kids.
 
what are you trying to get the most skiing for your buck?

like every minute in claim costs $.75 and every minute in turbo costs $.89 or what?
 
lets just say i got through 3 screws in my 6 pack and it ends up being about the price of hard porn- a buck a minute. oh and uh sammy carlson anyone?
 
In the NS store you can buy those tickets, and it says Hunting Yeti - 40 minutes. I don't know if that's the actual lenght of the movie though...
 
i though yeti was super ambitiouts after putting out nearly 90 miuntes of webisodes, didnt you?

anyway, the film is fucking sick, i just got done watching it for the 5th time, and downloading a 2nd song off the quite unusual soundtrack. definitely check it out, nimbus really pulled out the best shit for the movie.
 
I havent seen hunting yeti yet but Idea was pretty short too and it was my favorite movie last year. I thought last year had the longest ski movies I can remember and while they were sick like always, I lost interest in some of them midway through. On another note, I cant cant believe its 95% new footage though like you said. Not calling you a liar, just saying thats impressive. I thought for sure it would be like at least half and half.
