Humnas are not to blame for global warming... the sun is (nice documentary)

bovine gases aka cattle farts and burps are more of a cause of it than humans are. And scientitsts r telling al gore to sth the fuck up already, cuz hes starting to say shit that isn;t true.

Haven't seen the movie in the original post yet, and believe me I will watch it in a second, but how do you explain the obvious link between CO2 and temperature? CO2 levels have never gone beyond a certain level as far back as human records go, and all of a sudden they're twice what they usually are? How do you explain the direct link between temperature and CO2 levels? Have you seen an Inconvenient Truth? Some of the stuff in there is pretty hard to dispute.

watch the movie and it will show y al gore is an asshole who make u believer this shit. its the opposite. temperature controls co2

This is just as biased and slanted as Al Gore's documentary. You have to call into question the agenda of your documentary just as much as you doubt Al Gore's. They showed a little graph of the temperature for the past 1000 years? Al Gore's go back hundreds of thousands, and the temperature that looks so huge on the graph is a blip on the one in Inconvenient Truth because they condensed it so much, and now temperatures are much higher than any of those little "warming periods"... I'll comment more as I watch this video.

That's what this video says, but not what Al Gore says. Why should I believe this more than him? What it comes down to is whose information is factual, and quite honestly there's no reason I should believe this more than An Inconvenient Truth.

It's funny how many arguments against global warming are backed up by scientists who are funded by the companies that create the largest amounts of pollution, isn't it?

Plus, I know of a few million McDonalds addicts in this country who could stand to ride a bike everyone once in a while for reasons other than global warming.

wait wait wait... cosmic rays produced by exploding super novae meeting water vapor cause clouds?

what about water vapor and dust particles, simple pollutions?

im sooo confused right now...

it's at 31 min.

ITS NOT THE FUCKING WARMING INPUT.

watch the vid in my original post. it talks about how the solar flares and storms and shit send out this "wind" that deflects the microscopic particles that help form clouds.

looking back through history at the activity on the sun compared to c02 levels it is obvious that there is a corrolation.

watch the video.

right. i agree with you there.

but i am sick of everyone saying that humans are melting the ice caps and that unless we stop producing so much c02 NEW YORK WILL BE UNDER WATER!!!! OMG....

but i agree that we dont need to be poluting so much.

i am a rabid supporter of electric vehicles (NOT hydrogen. electric) and i am really not into the idea of having to wear little masks and shit.

c02 is the main greenhouse gas. it accounts for so much of the majority that its not even worth mentioning.

just watch the video. it covers every point you tried to make.

and in the future, PLEASE WATCH THE VID FROM THE ORIGINAL POST BEFORE COMMENTING.

right. but at the same time these scientists not only proved their own points, they disproved the points made by an inconvenient truth.

as temperature increases, c02 increases. its in the video i posted originally.

they talk about how the evidence shows EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE of what gore claims.

these are just climatologists and scientists. some of them are ex-government. but they arent funded by corporations.

i think its the other way around: telling people that if they ride bikes and prevent forest fires that THEY TOO CAN PREVENT GLOBAL WARMING is utter bullshit. its definitely one of those "well the world might be going to shit, but we will tell people its all going to be ok if they try hard enough" tactics.

remember "sealing your home off from bio attacks with duct tape and plastic wrap" scenarios? al gores film is the same shit.

we cant stop these forces. we cant. and we are so fucking insignificant that we arent even affecting these forces.

watch the film i posted in the first post.

yes, we do put out a lot of pollutants. but if we see this common pattern caused by something out of our control, and see warming and cooling patterns throught the earth's history it is pretty safe to say that as of now we havent brought about some cataclysmic change in the earth's atmosphere.

bikes are good.

but you obviously didnt watch the video or pay attention to who was talking and what their credits were.

alright... what confuses me the most, is how this is the exact opposite of what gore said...

the way that these two documentaries are presented, all i can see from them is their data, what they gathered. I have no way of knowing the validity of either method or data, and i can only therefore take their word for it..

i've been skeptical about global warming, at least in its effects, before this film, and so with very basic reasoning coming from an inconvenient truth and the graphs and data there, so it comes as no surprise to me that there are alternate theories, given the widely speculative nature of this entire endeavor.

the thing is that, one of their main arguments is that this whole global warming scheme is very largely political, and money driven, and i believe that this is true, because we KNOW it's true with many scientific theories, but how is it we cannot play the same card with these fellows? How do we know they aren't driven to get money back for them, that they're being truthful and completely transparent?

Really, what this says is that we really don't know for certain what will and won't happen, which is basically the premise i started out with.

However, their spiel about how we're keeping the progress of Africa and globalization down, that whole conspiracy seems rather far fetched, or at least unfair...

while developing countries may not actually contribute anything to climate change according to this, we DO know that developing countries are far more polluting than developed countries in their industrial business, and this IS damaging to the environment. Just look at China: CFC's killing the ozone layer, cars that pollute so much the air is basically cancerous, polluted waters, destruction of habitat... These things are not good. Far from keeping developing countries down, this should encourage the west to help industrialize efficiently so that they reach the level of cleanliness we have in many parts of the world...

If the global warming scare can make people stop polluting, and help others (ha, humans being generous and altruistic) to not pollute, then i don't care if it's true or not, in the same terms or not...

either way, less pollution = better everything.

I think the politicization of the Global Warming issue contained within 'An Inconvenient Truth' and the posted documentary are secondary to the facts they present.

The false causality attributed to CO2, as highlighted in the posted documentary, is really whats of interest, not the poor inductive arguments about Africa and other developing nations. It seems to me that the facts indicate that CO2 is a result and not a cause of the warming trend so science should stop trying for bragging rights and seek the truth as Al Gore so inadequately posited.

so many of you people are so fucking quick to jump on any bandwagon you see...its disgusting. threads like this should be banned from the site because it makes everyone dumber, because no one actually watches the video, they just assume its right or wrong. anyone who has studied climate change knows that you can take the available data to make it say anything you want. reports and documentaries like this are released all the time, however most of them are funded by oil companies, auto companies, or other industries with an interest in making people think that we're not to blame. i am NOT saying that the other reports are not similarly biased (i mean this documentary makes the exact same argument about the environmentalist perspective), but people need to keep that in mind. you can't make your decision based on the fact that you don't like al gore and his movie. if you have actually studied this issue and choose to take this stance, good for you, i respect your decision. before you make your decision though, educate yourselves about all the factors. not just what this movie shows, or what al gore's movie shows, because both leave out extremely important factors. i respectfully disagree with the conclusion that this documentary makes, but i thought it was very interesting and thought it raised some valid points. i don't think al gore, or the people who made this have it right. but whatever, im done ranting.

"anyone who has studied climate change knows that you can take the available data to make it say anything you want"

that is one legit line.

granted wikipedia isnt the best source, but it was the first thing i found:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Durkin_(television_director)

read the whole thing, but this is my favorite part:

Durkin was also questioned by the Independent newspaper regarding the origins of a graph of global temperatures in recent years that was crucial to his argument. He was also quoted in the independent as saying "The original Nasa data was very wiggly-lined and we wanted the simplest line we could find".

well you could simplify a wiggly line with a good ol' line of best fit, but...did you change it along the way...

yea that man doesnt seem legit

1. Al Gore is a POLITICIAN! he isn't a scientist. It's his job to win votes, whether he is actually interested in it or not, this seems to be a political tactic, and a good one at that. I watched the inconvenient truth, and he makes many, many subtle references to his political career. For example, "My opponent in the 1996 election pledged to reduce emissions, but didn't hold his promise"... So now people are thinking, Al Gore is the man to vote for when it comes to SAVING the WORLD.

People need to realize that politicians concern themselves with winning elections, its not like Ghandi who preaches for no ulterior motives.

and 2! It's AL GORE'S MOVIE, MADE by him, STARRING him. It's not some national geographic, scientific video. It's a freakin movie, that went to movie theaters and DVD, so stop quoting this as a mecca of ALL you need to know about 'global warming'

Word is born nigga

one thing i dont like about that man is he feels that we can "reverse" global warming. we've fucked up and its not like we can repair what we have done. good luck removing carbon from the atmosphere bud

watch the movie b4 u say this. burning fuel produces very little co2 compared to other things that produce it. the ocean produces way more then us. it also produces more when it is warmer which is a reason why temperature DOES control co2

stfu dont just keep commenting watch the video trust me it explains everything. That's like me saying watch al gores movie trust me it explains everything oh and by the way it also disproves everything that your saying so your wrong

I have decided that at least 50% of American's are dumb.  Why do you have to associate global warming with al gore so much? who the fuck gives a shit about al gore, don't hate on the idea of global warming just becasue al gore trys to use it to his benifit.       Who the fuck gives a shit about global warming anyways.....its the smog and nastyness of the fucking cities that i care about, its how fucking gross and stinky highways are, if  by cleaning these places up it helps global warming stop  or whatever then thats good too.  the whole sun spot stuff and all of these documentaries are scewed, all the dat is presented in a way to make it interesting and have the viewers believe what they are being presented to.  The truth is porbally some fucked up amount of both of them plus some shit we haven't even discovered yet like ancient dino warming hot tubes or something.

thats a pretty biased wiki entry if i do say so myself.

all i can say is this: the quote from him about the graoh says NOTHING about the validity of his argument.

hydrogen fuel is a fucking pipe dream.

at least in cars.

hydrogen right now depends on fuel cells. it also depends on petroleum.

fuel cells suck a ton of ass to the point that hydrogen powered cars are still pretty far off in terms of usability and the fact that we use a shit ton of petroleum to GET hydrogen should tell you something.

its all in a movie called who killed the electric car.

ya. actually gettin tha hydrogen. hmm. anyone hear of the perpetual motion car? runs on air pressure and it pressurizes its own air? thatd be sick when/if they r able to make this

that's the whole point.

if the political and personal bias of each person is what each person says (Gore is in it for the money, these other scientist want the money back), then the entire validity of their claims falls into question, because of the format of these documentaries.

I cannot see first hand their method, nor their actual discoveries, only quaint little graphs that show a correlation to what the person is saying. Both Gore and these dudes do this same thing, and the fact that they're so opposite means that someone is completely wrong, when they both have as much to gain, ie money, as the next...

I love how people believe anything they see in a movie/video. There are movies out there just as bad ad the tabloids you laugh at while standing in line @ the grocery store. People make shit up, have sneaky editing techniques, and flat out lie. But because it's in a video, and not print people are more apt to believe it. do your own research, and stop worrying so goddamn much. By the time things get so bad that people can't live here anymore, we'll all be dead and gone. nothing to worry about. fuck the world.

Too bad both sides of the whole climate change argumnet are going to nit pick their reasearch to fit their own believes about it.

Hahahahahahha OWNED.

But yea, even if humans aren't the main cause for global warming. Everyone should still try and minimize emmissions just for the health of anything. Like really, it's just common sense to not pollute.

But those dudes who deny the holocaust are a bunch of racist low lifes that waste our oxygen, food and water. They should be thrown into a damn oven.

A bunch of those dudes are like ex KKK leaders. They're all fawked in the head and could have payed scientists to support their believes.
