Humidity levels?

Ok so I was watching the olympic womens marathon on CBC today and the chick kept on going about how hot and humid it was, and she said it was 25C, and 75% humidity. That got me thinking about what would happen at 100% humidity??

Would it just start raining, or would it just dump water out of nowhere, what would happen?
And is it possible to go over 100%?
 
well i'm here in calgary and i think we've had about 30 days this year at over 25C and 82% humidity, but it wasn't even raining outside for a few of those days.
 
1.Yes, humidity can be 100% even if its not raining. Humidity is how much water is in the air over how much air can contain without precipitating.

2.Over 100% is impossible, it is like filling a bucket full of water, you can overfill it, but it would just overflow.
 
thats not true. i actually learned something in chem that helped me later

the solution (air) can be heated higher so that the capacity is greater, and when it cools down it can hold the greater capacity. this is called a supersaturated solution. but those get fucked up as soon as they are disturbed and then the precipitate falls to the bottom

thats chem.... Bitches.
 
just like rock candy, boil water put tons of sugar in there, let said water cool, and the sugar precipitates out.
