Anyone heard anything about this high speed internet. Its for people like me who have dialup, but live in the middle of the woods and can't get dsl, or cable. Just trying to see if anyone out there knows if its actually as fast as DSL and such.

yes, its faster, but costs an arm and a leg, only downside other then price is slow upload speeds, but thats not a huge deal

i also cant get cable or DSL where i live.
so my family got HughsNet and its mad weird. it works really fast about 1/4 of the time and te other 3/4 its slow as fuck, it could just be they installed it poorly or something, but does anyone else have this problem? or should i just get it fixed?

oh my god, i hate their commercials, i rage at 0:41 every time

I have WildBlue which is the same type of service as Hughes Net. It sucks, but it is better than dial-up. My family was forced to move up to the most expensive plan ($80.00/month) because we were over our alloted amount of usage. Also, it sometimes cuts out in heavy rain, and if it snows it stops working all together (in very cold/snowy climates i think they attach heaters to the dishes). Another downfall of satellite internet the delay that you experience because the information has to travel to the satellite and back.
