Huge topsheet slice

The other day somehow my opposite edge took this huge gash out of my other ski's topsheet on my MTs. Some of the core is exposed even. The sliced part is still there and it lays down nicely, so I just have to affix it back in there. Since it exposes the core though, I'm reluctant to use regular epoxy in case it will soak into the core and mess with it. I do need a moisture seal though to protect the core. Any suggesitons on what kind of glue/epoxy?

ehhh i wouldnt mess with that unless u really knew wat u were doing, im sure if u brought it to ur shop they could fix it up for a few bucks

I'm not exactly sure where this rumour about epoxy eating cores came from, but it doesn't. In fact, most foam core skis are basically made of epoxy and epoxy does nothing to wood. So yea, just use some epoxy, you'll be fine.

Screw this I'm going skiing

if the peice fits on nicely, then just epoxy the part on the topsheet, dont put any glue on the core, just epoxy over the top of the piece. this way no glue gets on the core, and you peice will stay there.

epoxy is fine don't worry at all, get the stuff you mix together manually, i find it works best

arent the Madtrix supposed to be like heavy duty consturction or something?

MadTrix are pretty bombproof in terms of general construction, but the topsheets are sortuv weak so I hear, and the slice im looking at seems to agree. Thanks for the advice.
