One of my buddies is selling me a pair of defects CHEAP. Like 140 dollars cheap, so I just wanna know what Im buyin.

Oh yeah, and the rundown-

I ski trees/pow and some groomers. Maybe some park this year.

Im 6 foot, 160 pounds.

They are 167's.

no way to small bro....img 6ft and 145 and my park skis are like 171 which are already really small, so think a lot bigger man, and a lot wider if you want to ski pow and trees and some park, maybe.....kung fujas, lizzies, msps's, and anything else around there

Yeah dude, I can totally feel you. But I rode 170's last year, and they were perfect. Not to mention Im still crossing over from skiboarding (or skiblading if you really wanna call it that).

I might find something a bit longer. But I just have no money. Moms only putting $100 in, and you know how far that gets.

If you're going to make the transition don't waste money on an "inbetween" ski. I rode the chronic wides and I liked them but I'd personally go with a newer, cheaper ski for you. way longer, too. like high 170cm's.

well on NS it can get you pretty far haha....but i dont know how much fun you'll have on those chronics, 167 is hella short especially for all mountain, id wait a while you got time til ski season no reason to waste money now, besides ryanwar6 is having a mega sale in an hour and ten minutes so check that out

yeah 86 is to small for sure, it would be good as a park ski, maybe....i hear chronics are super stiff but not as an all mountain man

they are way too short for you. even if you did ski blade. your mothers 100$ would be better spent elsewhere. save up a little and buy a decent length for your size and you will have much more fun this season, thats the Calb3rt guarantee.

Totally unrelated, but I LOVED my line chronic wides. They were the best skis I ever rode. It's a shame those would be too short for you.

They work fine as an all mountain ski. Just mount them back like -4 to -6 and you are set. They are stiff enough.

I use them in park and all over the mountain in the east, so they work just fine and they are fun. I even was even able to shred the stuff in the west as well (not the super deep but in some pow)

yeah dude, i'm still lovin my pair. probably keeping them until they die, they kill it everywhere! but yeah to the thread creator, if you are 6ft i def go for something bigger... i'm 5'8 and ride 177 chrons and they feel perfect. try ebay maybe?

is there a like, womens version I could buy thatd be cheaper?

(And btw, can you mount normal AT bindings on telemark skis?)

First thinking about 167's at 6' tall, and then thinking about buying a woman's version tells me you are just psyching yourself out. You just seem a little timid about going bigger or thinking it's a lot heavier, but don't be. If you just give the longer skis a chance you will look back at this and smack yourself for even thinking about going that small. Seriously, it will actually help your skiing by going bigger, not hamper it.

I guess I do need to face it man, I used to shred on skiboards, but Im at a new point in my riding life, I might as well go big. I might get some 177's or so.

As for mounting AT's on telemark skis, that opens up alot of oppurtunities.
