How'd u get sponsered??

yea usually...just make a "sponser me" tape anmd sedn it around to local shops...and if u got mad skillz send it into some bigger spots...but for the average person, i would say sponser me tape, and high comp scores...thast how i got spansered by JEEP, and how i got on the LINE pro team, and all that good jazz
 
now a days to get sponsered you pretty much have to 9s all 4 ways and at least stop 3 quad kink rails
 
just look for a company that you elieve has the right stuff and throw down a few good tricks infront of the camera. send it to them, tell them what you an do for them and there you go. You don't have to be like misty 9's althe time to get the hook up. maybe the mad hook up but not the hook up.
 
not true at all.....jsut have some good shit and throw down at big comps. it also depends on the sponsor itself.....if youre looking to get armada and oakley then youre right but if youre just going to small places like shops you dont need all that
 
dude im sponsored by a local shop and my best trick is a switch 5 saftey. you have to do more than just ski and you will do fine. i don't even compete right now!!!
 
get to know a rep, make a tape win comps and lots of them. kill everything and have a good additude towards skiing. all of those things help getting hooked up.
 
you don't even have to et the stuff for free. my sponsors give me big discounts. Zeal optics gives me 50% off of their amazing stuff! i would get some free stuff, but i live in Canada, not the US
 
your chances are slim . companies want their product to be seeing on a winner(so then kids look at that dude that got first and says "hmm if i had BRAND X skis i would be better")
 
the only thing is that if sponsorship is why you ski, then you are not skiing for the right reasons. I ski becasue i love it. not because i love to get free stuff. it helps my skiing, sponsorship does help, but it does not complete skiing
 
like right now i have my bro's 4 year old xl coat that is way too big for me. i also have like 5 year old gloves that are kinda holding up
 
our crew put out a video and we got sponsored by helly hansen and salomon. but your best bet is to talk to local shops. if you are decent, it's not to hard to get proform deals from them (you pay for your shit, but it'll be like 60% off retail).

me too. i have to buy all my stuff now too. i would like some better goggles and some better mitts/gloves but my skis are fine for now. I think that you are right in saying "reasonable gear to ski with". i feel the same way.just some people i know ski just to get sponsored and get free stuff. to me, skiing is more that products (they do help a lot though) it is a sport and a compitition and something to people that they can set a goal too "i WILL land that 720 mute" that is what skiing is a lot about!
 
My dad wanted me to race when I was young. so be bought me skis, and ever since then I have been able to steal money from him. Wakeboarding though, my friend hooked my up with some clothing company and they like took pictures and I got a bunch of tshirts and stickers.
 
just go out and ski and have a good time. If you are in the right place at the right time, the sponsor will find you. Trust me, you want the sponsor to find you, it makes for a better relationship in the future because they want you first.

If you have the skills, the right attitude, and the look they are going for then you will get hooked up. Go to contests and photo shoots, sneak in if you have to and throw it down. If you got skillz everything will be fine.

If you eat shit sneaking in you will prolly get tossed out. If you stomp better than everybody else you will get a break.
