How you started to love skiing

Pretty much the first day my dad took me when I was 6. I still remember going into the moguls cause it looked fun, sliding down the last half then getting up and wiping a bunch of blood off my lip that I cut during the fall then laughing my ass off about it with my dad. Then I guess I just never wanted to stop and would go whenever I could get my dad to bring me.

id been snowboarding since i was 5 but my friend showed my a few ski edits "fuck" was one of them and i was just like "oh that seems fuckin fun" and now i ski more than i board.

Cross country skied from before I can remember and learned to downhill ski when I was six. My parents offered to pay for me to do a one day a week mogul program for my 14th birthday. I found I had some natural ability and made a bunch of friends, so that became both days every weekend pretty quickly. End of that season I realized I just didn't want to do anything else. That's probably where it began.

Me too man. Got me stoked on park anyway.

I even remember which episode. "This is Stupid" where Ross Imburgia does that back flip through that tiny tree gap onto that picnic table…dayyyyum.

" but as long as I'm on skis I'm happy...." Exactly that! In 7th grade my best friend trying to convince me to go on church ski trip with him. Asked every year, finally after footbsll and basketball were over , my senior year HS, I was 17, went to the local hill. Thought it was huge ( all 200' of it) but from the moment I started to slide, I found my love... My passion turned to addiction, and it grows stronger every day ( compiling the years) now, 23 years later, I'm still in love !!

I was originally a snowboard instructor until we were short ski instructors. I got talked into teaching skiing and the rest is history.

A buddy of mine showed me this before I started skiing, instantly felt the need to buy a pair of skis and have fun with my friends.

Initially it was all the oldschool 4bI9 edits that got me addicted to skiing. I was god awful even with all the inspiration from watching them throwdown. Then 3 years ago I was skiing one day on a huuuuuge powder day with my friend and I got a feeling that was so orgasmic that got me literally hooked on skiing and I did nothing but watch ski edits, and ski. 2 years ago when I met a friend he showed me my first Poor Boyz movie. I watched for the first time, Everyday Is A Saturday and that whole movie got me even more stoked; specifically Thall, Spriggs, and CR's seg. To this day if I'm ever looking to get stoked I go back and watch Everyday Is A Saturday.

What got me addicted was not being raised in a skiing family. The 3 guys I ski with also did not have skiing parents and were not raised on the hill. I started around 15 and now never take a day for granted. I appreciate every day on the hill.

the windells video was the first time i ever saw anything to do with skiing park, somone posted it on facebook and it got me so stoked.

I went skiing one day as a kid and it's been all downhill from there...

(Pun totally fucking intended).

I wish I got started as early as most of you. I only started the beginning of last season at age 14, Ive been hitting park since the very beginning though and had that in my sights the whole time. As for what inspired me, probably a combo of my peers and media on sites like ns.
