How yall new wave skiers look

new wave skiers are too young to have Newschoolers accounts. its Magnus and his army of 15 year olds on vishnu wets making them think they're the gods of buttering.

This thread is pretty funny, but fr just let people ski how they wanna ski. This site is so confusing, one minute we are hating on new wave and the next worshipping Cal Carlson's superunknown.

lol I'm 25 own wets and do lots of dumb swervy tricks. I know it probably makes you feel good to dismiss new wave skiers by saying "TheYre jUst a BunCH of dUmB KiDs" but that's definitely not the case, most people I meet who ride vishnus or ON3Ps are in their 20s.

It's not spin to win anymore grandpa, new wave brings out the creativity in the sport and allows people to express themselves how they want

on the east coast, the new On3p's have become the official ski of gapers alike. Only the most lit ride Vishnu.

I’ve seen many people who don’t look like they know what they’re doing on Vishnu on the east too.

Like almost half the site now is 15 year old new wave skiers and many who can't even ski park yet obsessing about how they want and love swervy skis, mostly vishnu.

It is what it is. I'm not a huge fan and none of you guys have to be either. That being said, if they stopped waving their arms around so goddamn much and kept their upper bodies a little more quiet I think this whole debate would cease to exist.

I don't agree with this. There has been the same amount of creativity in the sport in every era. The new wave isn't bringing out creativity, it's making the sport more accessible by popularizing low consequence tricks that can be done by anyone, anywhere. There has always been a spin to win element and it's always existed independent of style driven skiing, whether its early 2000s gorilla steeze, tall T era afterbang, or new wave swerves.

This. I think a lot of the new wave videos I've seen show that the riders are pretty talented. Tech on rails, and can't knock people throwing steezy cork 7's even if it may not be a dub. But the track pants, hoods under helmets, arm waving, and shuffling out of landings ruins it for me. These kids can ski for sure. Not as well as Dollo or Jesper, etc.... but better than most of us lurking on this site while we're in our offices/schools supposed to be working.

Ayo Ayo tho. Just take a step back and watch it for what it is, oppose to what you want it to be. Bc New Wave Skiers are tackling the same old features in new mindsets. Think of it as "uncharted territory." So they do what they gotta do for these tricks, and have different priorities with their riding. And its cool to see everyone's sets of priorities while riding, because that style.

All the swerve skiers in this thread downvoting right now

As I was reading this post I had to use google first to figure out what New Wavers are. Never heard of they before and didnt make a distincion before but I'm sure I've seen a lot of these guys too. Especially snowboarders. Funny thing.

Haha, I am 41 yrs old, been skiing for quite some time now. New Waive? I understand the term but isn’t it still skiing? I’ve been New Wavie skiing since 1982, no poles, noodly arms, spinning around and around, keep my knees together, having fun. Just makes me laugh to see and hear people dig on something we all do one way or another, oh well. By the way, I ride some ON3P Kartel 98’s and still ride the park pretty steadily, in fact my first twin tips I bought were back in 1998(Line Darksides, still have them).

Couldn't have said this better myself

It's not what brand you ski, it's how you ski them!

New is old and old is new. Trust me as an "old" dude skiing for 50 years!

I love it all. I also love all that are not jerks about it!

Rock on New Waver's
