How well does PVC slide?

I wanna make a box and use PVC on the sides but how well does it slide? We have a lack of speed in our back yard setup.

 
If you have a lack of speed, probably don't use PVC. Works OK if you have a lot of speed, but nicks up easily.

Also, you should build an in-ramp, to get more speed

anyone had expierience with polyetholene pipe?

Dude, whoever said dont use it with little speed is wrong. It slides way faster than metal, and is better for backyards, because most are flat.

I hate it because it looks like it should be called the Prison Shower.

I've used PVC in all of my backyard projects and I find that it slides perfectly well.

Easily the best stuff out there for cheap backyard setups.

you definitly need like hig qualitly pvc though, and have the walls(dont know what else to call them) be thick so it doesnt bend and take on a new shape from the wieght of the skiiers

^ no they're talking about pvc pipes, i strongly prefer pvc board and ya ive used plexi

somtimes you just got to take off your pants and slide on the ice
 
we just made a pvc rail it could either be really good or not, but if its good this could be the new way to biuld pvc without it cracking/reforming. The actual rails is like 13 feet long and sits about 4 feet high. Its just a simple flat rail but what we did was made something that looks like this out of wood

and then cut the pvc so we could actual place in on the wood like so pvc > (--)
