i've been thinking about putting one together, but i don't know how well it would work, any ever done it?

Friend of mine did that shit got sponsored within a few weeks. The more you know people the easier it is to get hooked up. Start findin reps to talk to.

yeah start small, don't make your film and put it in the mail to armada, start with a shop or soemthing local

actually i know a guy that sent a sponsor me vid to 4frnt, and armada and got picked up by them(he declined on armada and went 4frnt)....i doubt 4frnt is gonna pick up more guys though cuz there team is already pretty big.....

 
also u can do liek rep work stuff liek get free stuff but not really b full sponsorship on the pro team thing

I'd get to know some reps and then give them the video...

A lot of the ski companies that you are probably considering get TONS of 'sponsor me please' tapes and they'll probably skip over your name unless they recognize it

if your gonna do it, make sure your segment is fucking insane. Make sure every shot is a the perfect angle, and you stomp the shit out of everything. If you dont think your segment is that good, make a new one. Keep at it until you have a super sick segment with good flow, professional style editing, and good quality footage. That old VHS camera your mom got in 95 isnt going to cut it.

What kind of questions are those...

Obviously it will work if the conditions are right.

If you ski somewhere where you don't HAVE the opportunity to meet reps, photographers, and be 'noticed' or 'found', then you have little other choice.

however, if you ski Whistler, they'll be expecting for you to get noticed.

7springs is a real mountain, try getting hooked up with a local shop that will watch you or something. from there, through the shop, you can meet company reps. choose a shop that you WANT to represent, possibly with the brands of the reps you want to meet.

see the man reason i would want a sponsor would be clothes...so id just send out a bad ass demo to companies with clothes just asking to where their clothes and say they im sponsored...they would have to pay me shit...i make my own videos

cause, we all know, unless you have a sweet camera, there is no way you'll get sponsored for skiing..

today me and my friends were skiing at ski brule wi, some instructor who was watching us with a bunch of k2 crap came up to us and told us we should give him some tapes of us skiing, because he said he could easily get us sponsored. and we wernt throwing anything to huge underflips and corked spins and thats about it. so it seems its much easier to sponsored than i thought.
