Tom wallisch posted a video of how he trains in the U.S Training facility for the USSA Network. He doesn't use the training facility for the gym..

saw this on facebook.bad move wallnuts. he's gonna get cut from the olympic team if he doesn't start whipping himself into shape.

Yeah I mean he's probably so out of shape because he skis everyday. Plus he's a terrible skier so I mean he's gotta start doing something.

henrick harnlouat has the most rigorous disciplined training programme that you can imagine. the guy lifts all day every day and runs marathons to keep in shape. apparently he even swims 4km once a day for extra cardiac training.

Oh and sorry for dub post, but I am in no way at all saying henrik is not good. As I see it, hes just been skiing for so long and as more style + comfort on his skis then anyone else, therefore allowing him with a huge range of tricks. Basically saying he doesn't need to work out.

you guys are kidding around but working out everyday doing mobility work, core work and a ton of leg strength stuff helps skiing immensely .. especially in terms of injury prevention. Tom might not have tweaked his leg if he had worked out more .

this is true. last year at school I took a fitness class where all we did was work out and run. between that and cross country by ski time came I noticed my legs were giving me more pop and I could take some gnarly hits without getting injured. now I haven't worked out my legs since I was running in october and I blew my acl and mcl 2 weeks ago and the motherfucker just collapsed for no reason when I landed, even though I overshot by about 20ft but I didn't land on flat or anything.

definitely a lesson learned.

when i tore my acl, my legs were in the best shape they ever had been. i had been going to at least three football practices a week and doing extra running training, and then one day i twisted my knee a bit and my acl tore completely.

i think it was probably due to wear on my knee from everything, and i'm not sure if having well exercised legs keeps the possibility of an acl tear down.

I'm very surprised a facility like that would give permission to do that, especially when you ride out to either a brick wall or glass window.

i won't be impressed by his street cred til the training regimen consists of smoking weed and playing skate 3

nothing wrong with going to the gym, but if i can do something else i will, i try and avoid gyms as much as i can, mostly cause they are boring as fuck. skiing from opening to closing does a lot more for me than running on a treadmill and using machines. i've tried working out in a gym a lot, i was doing like 4-5 days a week for a couple months, but i was in nowhere near as good of shape as last summer when i was mtn biking, wakeboarding, swimming, hiking, trail running, climbing etc.. probably 5 days a week.

pretty much this. real sports feel so much better than running on a treadmill or pumping some weights too.

I honestly think he's not as thrilled on the Olympics thing as he was (if he even was). I feel like a lot of pros aren't as stoked on the Olympics thing anymore.

only on the inside.

and to OP, fuck yeah tom, im glad someone well respected made a video about how the best training is shredding and having fun
